Everything is perfectly tasty, first time having my fish and chips with brown sauce and the tartare sauce was particularly good, fish and chip were top end but missing that sea side spark you usually get from coastal restaurants. Nothing to complain about mind and the waitress was lovely.
Large food portion and everything is freshly cooked and hot, fish tastes quite fresh but the calamari not as fresh. Friendly service , would recommend as a good place for fish and chips.
The restaurant is situated at a convenient location not very far from the Portobello Beach and is sectioned into distinct dine-in and takeaway area. I ordered a variety of dishes over a couple of visits, ranging from Haggis Tweeds to Margherita Pizza to Tiramisu. While all of the dishes served are good, their Haddock in Batter is one of the best fish and chips one can get in Edinburgh. The place is reasonably priced and is definitely recommended to try out. A shout out to Luka, their amazing front of the house staff. Follow me on Instagram at @theravenousbong
Customer service needed work as employees seemed frazzled and unprepared. We were placed on a table right next to the toilet and had to shift the table so that people could use it. However, food was your average fish and chips and was quick.
Very nice fish and chips with friendly staff. The fish was delicious with a nice thin batter and the chips were crispy. The curry sauce was nice too as was the coffee that I had.Recommended dishesFish & Chips
The battered haddock was to die for. Chips a bit soft. Waiter was super friendly and attentive.Food: 4/5
I had lunch in St Andrews restaurant today, gluten free fish with salad, very nice. Coffee was good and as I drink americano you know if the coffee is not good, this coffee was lovely, I had two cups. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the service from Lukasz was superb. I recommend it all without hesitation.
My 1st Fish & Chips in Scotland! Looks can be deceiving! Battered Haddock...I had to salt it, I had to pepper it, vinegar it, lemon it, and finally tartar sauce it! I couldn't understand it...how could something that looked so good, be so flavorless and made w/no love at all?! Now granted, it was New Years Eve, and they may have been focused on cranking out fish then the midnight celebs. But in the end, it made me want to cross back over the border and do fish & chips in Ireland!:
Excellent fish suppers, 2 adult portions and 2 kids were they split the fish between 2 portions and reduce the chips ever so slightly was more than enough between us for Grandad and teenage daughter. Fish quality was excellent, batter crispy and light, chips perfectly judged and not greasy. Fabulous October evening meal walking along the sea front
Quite possibly the best tasting Fish and Chips I have every had. The batter was great and the chips were very crispy. Service was quick and staff were very nice.Food: 5/5
