Brilliant customer service, NOT. Our last review has been deleted and not dealt with; so here it is again so you can all see it and if it is deleted and not dealt with again our complaint will be passed onto the Food Standards Agency. This would be zero stars if we had the choice. we stopped off for two nights at a lovely hotel in Swindon 5 minutes away from The Spotted Cow on our way to Devon and decided to eat here the first evening, what a mistake!! The glasses were filthy, lipstick marks on 2 of the 4 glasses, scum marks on another and when asked to replace them 1 of the new ones still had lipstick on it, I was told that this is as good as the machine washes them :. Also my daughter and I were poorly that evening being sick, I did attempt to speak to someone at the pub but nobody answered the phone, nor could they be bothered to call back when we left a message regarding possible food poisoning caused by them. The salad was slimy, the cutlery was filthy and the staff unhelpful, incompetent with a don't care attitude - definitely a place to avoid!!
My mother in law booked a table for the family to celebrate my sister in laws birthday, today 30/1/22 I haven't been to The Spotted Cow in several years, and I must admit after seeing the meals my relatives enjoyed tonight, we will be coming back, only tiny complaints really. . .the meat was a little too greasy in my husbands burger but not enough to of put him off and the sour cream was out so my sister in laws nachos were a little bit of a let down. Meals were ordered with certain requests and unfortunately this wasn't completed correctly but one meal was taken back and amended, Apart from that we enjoyed our night out.
Was nice and friendly starter was lovely came quick even tho there was a 30 min wait. Main course came ordered the Sunday best burger. The gravy it came with was lovely. The actual burger was well presented looked good but when eating the burger it was over powered by mustered that had been put in it even tho it doesn't state on the menu it has mustered in it . Very disappointing was such a shame as with out this the burger would have been lovely
From bad to worse! Nachos no flavour at all, children's pasta cold and flavourless same same children's pizza, cold and undercooked. Litter everywhere, will not be returning. Very low even for Hungry Horse- we do appreciate it's a cheap pub, but at least cook the food! "Fresh" veggie sticks! Those were fresh yesterday morning...
Party of ladies Friday night. Food delicious. The pink prosecco was delicious... Many bottles later lol. Jake was our server. He was so funny , a joy to have when your out on a Christmas meal with friends. So thank you from us all. Merry Christmas xc
Busy restaurant, sign asked to wait to be seated - wasn't waiting long. Good variety of food. Printed Gluten free menu was given on request, and an allergen menu available for specifics. Didn't explain that we ordered at the bar. Friendly staff. Food was good on the whole - ordered gammon sizzle with jacket, coleslaw and a Caribbean sauce. They ran out of jacket potatoes so offered two children's mini jackets as a replacement. One was plenty tbh, and the other was too dry to eat anyway. Requested dairy free butter / spread - seemed to have forgotten. Gammon was ample, no coleslaw?? but they replaced it with salad which was fresh and crunchy. Value for money, despite little glitches in order. Would visit again.
Lovely pub . We make your oldest daughter birthday dinner . Lovely food , friendly staff Even the staff liked my home made cake
The food was simply okay. Good deals on a Tuesday. Could do with some more beans with the English breakfast. Our waiter was very kind and polite although didn’t make us aware that if you want bread with your English breakfast it costs extra.
Visited today after going to Coate Water Country Park. Could not fault a thing. Spacious pub, nice beer garden, fab value for money too. Food was delicious large menu and service was great. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Will definitely return again. Keep up the good work.
A lovely meal with the family for my son's birthday, good food reasonably priced. 1 meal had to have chips and pea's changed because they were not warm enough, but was done so without any fuss and replaced within moments. I would say it could do with a makeover now, as there are a lot of new houses around it.
