"The Sportsmans Arms is a local country pub located just outside Dartmouth on the A379 Dartmouth to Totnes road. The pub is ideally situated in between the villages of Blackawton, Halwell, Cornworthy, Dittisham & Stoke Fleming. There are several Campsites in the local area with Woodlands Glade campsite and Little Cotton camping & caravan site being the nearest. You can expect a warm welcome from our friendly staff, with a roaring fire in the winter & a large beer garden & children’s play area in the summer. Here at the Sportsmans Arms we serve traditional English pub food, and our very popular carvery each Sunday. We are passionate about home cooked food and we use local produce & suppliers. Dogs are more than welcome in the bar area."

Absolutely amazing experience. 15 of us, 12 adults and 3 children descended here at 6.30 on a Saturday evening unannounced and they couldn't have been more helpful. Have us our own little room and the service was 1st class from start finish. The food was hot, timely and very tasty. The desserts were lovely. Highly recommended.
Stopped bye on the way to a camp site, wow is all I can say. Food was super, beer even more so. Staff where excellent. Large indoor and outdoor seating for food and drinkers. They even let CV stay over night at nofew drinks and a meal cost in the securish car park.
Booked a table for 5 here we were seated in the marquee, table was not set on arrival and marquee was cold, not pre warmed had to ask for heaters.table was set for family that arrived 10minutes after us.food was very good everyone enjoyed their meals, staff were very friendly and helpful. The heater blower they had rigged up kept the marquee nice and warm when it was on but soon went cold when it went off and for some reason it kept going off. Would visit again but only if we can get a table inside.
One of the best. Good food with a range menu for breakfast. just right. Ice cream. Good service. Very clean. Big car park. Nice views. I recommend.
Travelling to area quite often at moment. This is the 3rd time we have eaten here recently. Had different choices on menu each time and everything good. No problems at all. Staff really friendly and helpful. Given choice to sit in bar to eat on sat evening to watch football. Good seats and good atmosphere. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Fantastic food, I mean really fantastic food. I had the pizza with steak and blue cheese, which was lovely and my other half had the fish and chips with curry sauce, which was truly incredible. The batter was the best we’ve ever tasted and the curry sauce was sublime. Highly recommended.
A really nice simple country pub - open fire going. We went for lunch. Good was absolutely top notch and good range of choices including vegan. I had crackling pork roast. Friendly and attentive service. Plenty of parking. What's not to like.
Good pub food. Old building and decor with plenty of parking
Lovely cosy pub. The Carvery is amazing. But yesterday we had pizza and chips and a point and was just as tasty. They source local produce and meat. Really impressed with the steak and blue cheese pizza!
Virgin Sunday Carvery lunch with some friends yesterday 15/1. It was delicious and they were so very busy! Our table was booked for 2.15, we could not get in any earlier! Slightly hap hazard service although we have all know the issues with staffing in hospitity. A seemingly quite young staff in the main and in their defence, they were rammed! I believe they serve all day too! I would certainly advise booking! I will certainly be going back again and again! Thank you all for the delicious lunch, the pork and cracking along with everything else was all delicious All your very hard work was certainly appreciated by me and my companions and I do know what I am talking about having been a busy restaurant manager in a former life! Well done to all your team! See you again soon!
