Saw a google review from a week ago, someone who has the best fish & chips. Just went on the local steam railway & saw this review…. We all had beautiful meals, all of us said we had the best pub meal we’ve had in a very long time. We would love to return. It’s dog friendly too. What a beautiful building, complemented along side the food & most friendly staff. Thank you.
Our first stay at The Cott Inn, booked without any prior knowledge. What a find! Hard to know where to begin. The restaurant was a revelation. The quality of the food was superb. Very generous portions and reasonably priced too. The staff and owners could not have been more friendly and attentive. We felt very welcome. Although the restaurant was busy every evening, it was very quiet from about 10:30 pm so no sleep disturbance. We would definitely go back.
How lucky we are that our B&B is within walking distance of this fantastic pub dating back to 1320. Super friendly owners and staff. Nice choice of food and the seafood chowder was delicious. Very busy when we arrived without a reservation but the managed to find us a table. So good that we are returning again this evening
We ate at this gem when it was recommended to us. I can honestly say this was the best pub food we have ever had. Lovely staff and our dogs were made to feel welcome. I am on the search for the best fish and chips and think I’ve found them. Highly recommend !! XxService: 5/5
We were down in Devon for the weekend and were told this was the best place for a Sunday roast THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Every items on the plate was delicious and cooked to perfection. I would recommend booking, but thankfully they have lots of indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate walk ins too. Just be aware that there is very little parking at peak times
Visited today for lunch with three friends. We had the pizzas. Superb food. Fantastic service. Wonderful location and the atmosphere is through the roof. I have visited numerous pubs but this one really ticks the boxes. Their staff are spot on. Make sure to book to avoid disappointment.Service: 5/5
Best vegan pizza I've tried for a long time! Beautiful old pub with awesome outdoor sitting undercover and heated etc if required. Very helpful staff. Vegan roast option is really good too.Service: 5/5
Cannot recommend this highly enough. Incredibly welcoming. Stunning pub. Superb service. The best fish and chips I've had in a pub restaurant. Do not leave without having a dessert. One of the best pub restaurants I've ever been to- anywhere. Bravo.Service: 5/5
Went for a celebratory evening meal with my wife. From start to finish the service and food was 5 star. So refreshing to find a traditional pub that prides itself on traditional customer service. Can't wait to enjoy the award winning outdoor areas on our next visit.
Came for lunch here on a Monday afternoon. Good atmosphere and the menu was great, everything from gourmet burgers to Pasta to Game pies! Food was hot and fresh and service was good. Toilets a bit chilly as they’re outside, but clean, can always warm up next to the fire like we did afterwards! Food not dear for the quality you’re getting, and plenty of parking.
