We regret due to staff shortages CLOSED TUES & WEDNESDAYThe Durant Arms, is a dog friendly country pub & a family run free-house with three king-size bedrooms.Owned by The Woollacott family, we are first & foremost a proper village pub. Serving a selection of real ales, ciders, & wines, with hearty home-cooked food using fresh ingredients from local suppliers.We welcome well behaved children until 9pm, our chefs serve smaller portions from our menu where possible. We have one highchair & baby changing facilities in the Ladies.Located on the South Devon national cycle route No. 28 & The Dart Valley scenic walking trail from Totnes, making us a great & convenient stop-off for lunch."

Came across the Durant Arms today never been there before and what a lovely pub to eat. Could have done with some back ground music as we were listening to the table next to us and I'm sure they could hear our conversation. Nice pub and village hope to see you soon. Happy new year
We only popped in for lunch, but it was absolutely delicious. A very pleasant atmosphere. We used to stay here many years ago when it had different owners. I now rather look forward to coming to stay again!
AMAZING Sunday roasts, we loved all our roasts. We liked that there wasn't any background music we could hear each other, rather than having to shout!. Staff were lovely and friendly. Minus one star as the brownies were a bit dry - we like them moist/fudgey/gooey :

Fantastic pub. Best cauliflower cheese I’ve had this century. Nice walk from Totnes and back as well.
Fantastic beers, outstanding food and service. 10/10! We had a grilled Tuna Steak, a Moroccan inspired Lamb Rump, a real British pie and French soup and every dish was absolutely superb. Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time and from a dainty village. Hats and pants off to the chef! Would certainly recommend, Thank you!!
We went for a short walk from Totnes towards the Durant Arms. The walk was great so we rested at the pub before we headed back. The staff and all were great, friendly and chatty, which we like. Two pints were had, a Devon Cider and a pint of draft. Both fantastic. We will definitely pop in, next time for food as well while we head further down trail.
Excellent pub for an amazing Sunday roast, very helpful friendly staff and good selection of ales on tap. We look forward to visiting again.

Stayed for two nights. Lovely room with a view across the square. Towels had to be sourced urgently - arrived just before we needed them . Had an evening meal here too. Best chips we have ever had. Not exaggerating.... The breakfasts were good too. Very well - sourced bacon and eggs. Peaceful, friendly and when can we return?....
