Had hip replacement on a Monday the Sunday before the operation had to fast had the operation on Monday at 11/45nWoke up in afternoon I was hungry I asked for something to eat the nurse said the kitchen isnClosed but we can give you tea or coffee and biscuits.nAfter spending £18.ooo you would think at least a sandwichnAlso no after care barring a shoe horn and a grabber also no physio when you leave plus no home support.
The consultant was very helpful and freindly. He took his time and helped me figure out the best option going forward.nnHowever the receptionist was very grumpy and made me feel unwelcome.nnNot a great first impression.nnThe great consultant was the main reason I didn't mark Spire lower.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Staff are friendly, explain everything in detail and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Dr Martin and Dr Aziz were great at putting me at ease for my op. Follow up afterwards was also top class.
Two years have passed since I had a hip replacement at the Spire, and the results have been superb.nThe hospital itself was great, Mr Goudie the surgeon was great, and the staff, especially the Livingston FC supporting night shift nurse were all superb.nI have read a lot of mixed reviews about this hospital, but my experience of it is just so positive.
I was at Spire Murrayfield so many times for various health issues over the past couple of years that I lost count of my appointments. I went through everything from MRIs, to various samples and tests, to anesthesia + surgery, talked to wonderful doctors, nurses, pharmacists, reception staff... After all of it, I could not be more convinced of this hospital's fantastic standards and quality of care. Thank you for making me feel at ease and well taken care of throughout. When going through complicated and frightening diagnoses & treatment, it's so reassuring to know you're in competent hands.
