I'm regular customer, specially Halal meat section. Staff in the meat corner is very good and efficient service mostly. Meat quality and variety is good.nThe grocery section is nice too, Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi stuff can be found easily & Reasonably priced as well.
5 start shop.I go to this shop quite often and overall it’s a really good place. The shop is well stocked and you can usually find everything you need. The meat is fresh and good quality, and most of the staff are really friendly and helpful.nnHowever, I’ve consistently had a different experience with the lady at the counter. I find her tone and manner quite rude when serving customers, especially during payment. I’m not sure if it’s just the way she speaks or comes across, but it doesn’t feel very welcoming.nnI also have friends and family who regularly shop here, and they’ve had similar experiences with her, even though they otherwise really like the shop.nnI think the store would really benefit from some customer service training at the counter, as it would make the overall experience much better.
Really upset for the experience I had we bought maida flour for 2kg and the label at the display says £1.99 but they charged £5.99 omg really shocked after seeing the bill when we came home couldn’t go back and ask because we live far away from Edinburgh. Hope you guys will correct this and check labels properly.
Just back from a visit to Spice of Asia. Quality place! Their selection of fruits and vegetables are brilliant, particularly the Indian vegetables that you don't easily get it elsewhere! They are specialised in Indian, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Middle Eastern, African & Chinese items and are Very Well stocked I must say! From snacks to ready made batter to Pooja aids wicks, camphor, incense cones etc., they have everything. Round to the butcher's, they have a great selection of meats and cuts. French trimmed rack of lamb and saddle were my personal favourites. They are 100% Halal. Adnan the butcher was very professional and know his trade well! Wide selection of frozen fishes are available and butcher can cut it for you upon request. Karthy, the manager is a gentleman. He always go an extra mile to assist you. Things that you don't get easily in Edinburgh, on prior notice, he can source it from down south! The owner Neil was very friendly and courteous.nSana & Neenu, the two lovely ladies at the checkout couldn't be more helpful will be back. 100% Recommended!
Good stock but check your receipt. I was overcharged £23 because the last customers bill wasn’t cleared. Very helpful inside. But I will not visit again because of this incident. I left wondering whether I was trying to be scammed. There are many students in the area that would have just paid and not checked their receipt. I don’t believe it was intentional but this shouldn’t happen. I was refunded in cash.
