I bought a Spice Monkey course for myself and my partner for Christmas. We went in early February this year and it was fantastic. Nikita is a great teacher - passionate, experienced, knowledgeable and very fun. I did not expect references to Sid Snot during a cookery course, but it was very funny! I really enjoyed the experiential nature of the course - Nikita had us trying out all the spices and flavours before we did any cooking with them which made it really interesting and vivid, straight away. We both felt a lot more confident about cooking Indian food and with Indian spices and flavours after the course, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. And the lunch we were provided was delicious! We made gorgeous dishes, and are inspired to do more Indian cookery in future. Plus the day demystified a lot of processes for example, the base ingredients of Indian food, and what order to do things in, which makes such a difference to my overall experience of being able to create dishes. I totally recommend spending time with Spice Monkey and Nikita.
Our family of four took a cooking class with Nik. The experience was a highlight of our trip to London and Paris. Nik is a wonderful teacher and the whole family including teenagers were fully engaged and involved. And at the end of the experience we ate the best meal we had in London. We highly recommend taking a cooking class with Nik.
So far, I have taken two courses with Nikita, and both have been excellent and great fun. Nik is really engaging and encouraging too. The food you make is delicious and above all attainable. I regularly cook the recipes, and use the techniques he taught me to balance flavour on all the food I make at home. Thoroughly recommended.
This is the first cooking course I have ever been on. It was SUPERB, Informative, fun and I have already made two curries at home since that tasted better than any I have ever done. I highly highly recommend it to anyone! Thanks Nik for a great experience

Fantastic vegan Indian cooking course! Spice Monkey catered for the vegans thank you so much for thinking of us. We cooked several dishes. The course was very education as Nikita taught us about spices,shared stories and showed us how to cook a great selection of dishes. I have since found an amazing Indian shop thanks to Nikita’s recommendation. I have also recreated some of the dishes, which were delicious. Thank you Nikita. My husband and I had a wonderful time at the course.
Nikita came to our house to do a home course dinner party. It was a birthday present for my husband and we both had a brilliant time. Lots of tasting of spices and guided preparation of many varied dishes learning from Nik's skill and expertise. We knew we'd nailed it when our dinner party guests arrived and said "it smells like a proper Indian restaurant in here". Highly recommended, very enjoyable and we learned a lot, thank you Nik.
I did the Advanced course last week. Great fun, relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. Learnt new ideas and some new recipes. Highly recommended.
I went to Nik's vegetarian Keralan Kitchen cook school at the start of May. I learnt lots, not just about authentic cookery, but how to select and crack a fresh coconut! Nik's sense of humour and ability to easily engage the students in conversation made it really sociable and enjoyable. I'd highly recommend this cook school to anyone who wants a fun day out and learning new recipes and skills in the process.
I highly recommend this course! Me and my girlfriend had a blast, one of the best cooking class I've done and the teacher is very talented, fun and goes above and beyond to give us tips and tricks. I'll definitely be cooking india food more often now. Immediately after the class I went to buy all the spices!
