They have recently refurbished this place and they now have seating outside which is a nice touch for afterwork drinks on a sunny day. They have a good cocktail list happy hour, two for the price of one, on week nights. The food is also very good here, I had a steak and brie ciabatta which was yummy. The only down side would be that the quality of the furnishings could be better.
Ok where do I start.... let's start with on Saturday night when we were having a party for my birthday, the owner were suppose to be there to open up and never showed . we had 1 hour to send out a fb message. Ok some people got the message before and rearrange their evening .. some people didn't as I did not and I arrived at venue to closed locked doors. There was a bunch of my friends waiting outside and needless to say that were very disappointed with the whole club/ management experience. So just to recap my birthday got ruined and lots of people are very peed off and upset. If you are ever going considering to rent this place DON'T as they are totally unreliable. Rubbish club, rubbish attitude, rubbish management. My advice to anyone is don't touch this place with a barge poll. It f..ked up my birthday and I lost alot of friends. They haven't even bothered to call and arrange for the deposit to be paid back. Bunch of amateurs... never again.
I came in here yesterday with the other half and my parents, we ate using two tastecards which gave us 50% off food, which meant the 4 of us had dinner and a drink for just over a tenner a head, not bad for the location. The decor is simple yet stylish, and the food is on the higher end of pub-grub. Both the bf and I had a lovely wild boar burger and fries which was cooked just pink and pretty tastey, my Dad had freshly battered Haddock and chips and my Mum tucked into some nice looking Belly Pork. It was too cold for us to sit outside but there were several large sofas outside giving the place a bit of a continental feel, but being on Southwark St doesn't make for the best view in town. Whislt I wouldn't make a special effort to come here, I'd certainly not hesitate to pop back if I was looking for somewhere to eat and was in the area, especially with the discount the tastecard can offer!
We went there for my friend's bday. Bottle came out late around 1am and they had only 2-3 members of staff security which was the reason why a fight started and my friends got hurt. Apart from that ,Dj's good
Have not been here to eat, but I lived here as a kid, and I just wonder if the cellar has remained the same, or if anyone has seen anything ghost like, lots of customers had seen a hooded monk or had felt someone behind or passing them. Do they still have the cellars, and can anyone confirm if they were used as prison cells. ?
Will never visit this venue again and certainly wouldn't recommend it. They cancelled on my friends party without even telling anyone and after taking booking money too. Disgusting! Shame I had to give a rating of 1 star when they really deserve a zero.
Was good when Cococure parties were hosted here on Friday nights. It brought in the crowds. I guess it has been downhill since then for them.
Very limited selection of wine. They gave me a bottle of white - I looked on the label and it was from Asda. They tried to charge me £25! Needless to say I walked out.
Went here after work for Happy hour, the staff were friendly and the drinks were cheap and cheerful, what more can i ask for?
The place is full of very good dancers on nights devoted to salsa, bachata, r&b and so on... very impresed.
