Wow! i visited here with my nephew last week and i’m blown away. To start the shop is huge with so many different animals and wonderful sections for each. I particularly love birds so was so happy to see the massive cages the birds were living in and i’m talking huge aviaries! They were clean, each cage had plenty of food and water and the birds were so bright and happy you can tell they’re truly cared for. Every staff member i spoke to was so helpful and knew exactly what they were talking about.nnI’d definitely recommend to any animal lover to come down to this shop even just to look around it’s amazing
On a positive note they have a wide selection of livestock from tropical fish/exotics/birds/small animals and food and toys for all aswell as rabbits/cats/dogs etc.nnThe enclosures for the livestock lets them down though. In my opinion from my own research before having a variety of exotics, it is not great. I have contacted the shop about this directly. This was mainly for birds and reptiles with animals kept with incorrect substrate and enrichment. I didnt look at the fish section so cannot comment on this. It was busy though.nI assume they are expecting a delivery of live food soon as the live food wasnt 'live' with some boxes full of dead insects.
Great experience when purchasing Fancy Mice on multiple occasions.nAlways friendly staff great for all things pets!nWas even allowed to pre-order mice based on colours!
I visit here really often. They always have a good range of live food and their prices are affordable mostly. The only thing I think is a bit pricy are their reptile safe plants.nnThey have a unique selection of live animals which is really nice to go and see, the staff are helpful as well.
I’d give 0 stars if possible! Went in to buy a couple of bits for my dog and some bird food. Thought Id have a look at the quail that they had in and found one in particular looking absolutely horrendous!nThey had a note on the cage to explain that the birds were moulting so they don’t look their best but this one went beyond looking okay!nBeak completely over grown, toe nails over grown, absolutely zero feathers around its face and looking all puffed up and looking ill. It has a wound in the back of its neck from being constantly plucked at by a male.I spoke to a young member of staff about the bird’s condition in which she replied she would take the bird out and put it in another cage… I wasn’t satisfied with that so she went and got another employee assuming manager who was very rude and had absolutely no sympathy for this poor bird! She said “ you can have it” then walked off to which the younger assistant boxed up the bird and gave it to me. I’ve since got it home and trimmed its beak and nails and put it into rest care until it’s better enough to join my others! Absolutely disgusting conditions and attitude towards me and the lack of care for those animals!
