I have been going to this library ever since my Mam moved into her flat. I took my Mam there. I can recall the old library. It has been good for me to focus and use the computer facilities. Also book selection good if not there the library staff will request it for you. Also there are study areas.a children's area. There are meeting rooms you can rent out. If you don't use your local library they will close alas.
This is a lovely place for reading from a wide range of books and also the natural light helps a lot, as the building looks modern and it has wide windows. The staff is very amiable also. The only important detail is to double check the days and the hours as for the moment this beautiful library is open only four days out of seven.
It's a good library but I do not understand why it is not open on Monday and Friday as well. If they are short of people than they should just ask for more volunteers. The staff were nice when I visited on a Tuesday some months ago to use the computer as my printer is not working. I actually asked a lady behind the desk back in 2019 about volunteering for the library. I was perplexed when she replied 'I don't know why you want to work here, it's rather boring as all you'll be doing is putting books away' before she walked off'. A very off-putting manner and not how to treat people who offer to help
I've given it 5 stars because librarys are important. So important that it should be open ALL days of the week for a reasonble amount of hours. Being closed on Mondays and Fridays is unacceptable. I am a student, does that mean I dont study on mondays, fridays and sundays as apparently the library doesnt need to be open. If more staff are required Im certain there are plenty of people looking for employment. In my opinion the opening hours are a disgrace. I hope someone takes this up with who evers stupid idea it was and the local MP
I only went there to study and it was a good space to study. It was very quiet and please of space to study. When I went the bathrooms were clean and the staff were helpful.
Very stringent Covid measures still being enforced, such as a 15 minute browsing window. It's quite odd. The selection of books is fabulous but the environment they've created is incredibly off putting.
I'm a student and it's a nice environment to study in however it's opening times are really inconvenient and the covid regulations seem a little ridiculous.
The staff is exceptionally friendly, they can always get you a book, even if it’s not there, and as long as you know the opening hourswhich are posted online you are good to go!
It a lovely place, great friendly staff! And they always go above and beyond to find you the books you need!
Closed 3 days a week? Really? And the other days closing at 5:30...... please do something about the opening hours
