Modern French Dining in Bath
Owners Chris and Sarah are very excited about their new restaurant which is named after their first child Dominic who was born in 2013.
They both have extensive experience in the catering industry and look forward to welcoming you to experience French and European cuisine and warm hospitality.
After a rural Cambridgeshire upbringing in a family with a tradition of growing and cooking fresh food, Chris started his culinary career at the Three Horseshoes in Madingley. a well renowned and innovative restaurant on the outskirts of Cambridge, where he developed a passion for creating beautiful plates from the finest local ingredients.
He then decided to continue his training at Bibendum, the famous London restaurant in the beautiful iconic Michelin building, founded by Simon Hopkinson.
Under the guidance of Head Chef Matthew Harris, Chris learnt the skills to create impeccable classic French and British cuisine in a very busy high quality establishment. He moved very quickly through the ranks gaining extensive knowledge and understanding of ingredients, skills, dishes and menus.
Following this, helped his friend and mentor from Bibendum Jamie Younger establish The Palmerston in Dulwich an award winning London restaurant with an excellent reputation.
Chris’ first Head Chef role followed at the Old Bridge hotel in Huntingdon. A fine country house hotel owned by Master of Wines John Hoskins, a tutor in the importance of wine with food and the mechanics of delivering a quality restaurant where excellent customer service was always top priority.
This is where Chris met Sarah, who was working as Reception Manager.
Sarah started waitressing at a Cambridge hotel whist studying Travel and Tourism at college and continued to work in the hospitality industry trying out all different roles for the next 11 years.
She then moved into the Corporate world, enjoying various positions with the facilities team, including event management and health and safety up until recently when she left to have their second child Gabriella in 2015.
Following another stint as Sous Chef at Bibendum, Chris has been involved in a string of new openings across London, including his partnership with the family of his old friend Jamie Younger at the Queens Arms in Walthamstow. They created a wonderful environment to enjoy delicious food, fine wines and crafted beer.
Moving to the area to take up the role of Executive Chef at Bowood House and Country Club, Chris and Sarah rediscovered the city of Bath.
They decided this beautiful cosmopolitan city with many similarities to their home town of Cambridge was where they’d like to open their own family business to provide the outstanding food, wines and customer service so important to them.
