We passed by Sally Lunn's several times on our trip to Bath and thought it looked interesting, and always packed, but we usually had other plans. On a very snowy day in Bath, most markets and restaurants were closed, so we checked out the menu and asked for a table. While we didn't have a reservation, they were happy to give us the ONE empty table, and we were completely blown away by how great the food was and what a fantastic slice of history you get just from sitting down to a meal here. Definitely "a must" for Bath! Wish we had of realized sooner how great the food was, because we probably would have gone again.

Not worth the trouble. Went here with my mum on our day trip to Bath and we had such poor service. We ordered a 2 course meal and the second course never came! Our waitress (maybe she was new or ESL idk) was so unhelpful when we asked if it was coming. We waited so long we missed our train :( eventually we had our waitress grab the manager/supervisor who quickly adjusted our bill for what we actually received and took off the price of our drinks. The gesture was appreciated but not enough. They are capable of good service if the manager was any indication so why don’t they provide it to everyone? Also, I have no idea how we managed to get a table so quickly. There was a queue of the same people waiting when I went to use the loo and when we finally left 20 minutes later. Not a good business model for a tourist trap. Bun was okay but nothing to write home about. Would never come back.

No visit to Bath is complete without a visit to Sally Lunn's! Be prepared to wait during holidays or at peak eating times and don't baulk at the prices (it's not cheap!). Once seated, service is friendly, efficient and prompt. Whether you opt for snack or meal, savoury or sweet, the staple ingredient is the historic, iconic Sally Lunn's bun. Don't worry, though, they're delicious (you can even buy some to take home). My personal favourite is the Welsh rarebit with all the trimmings!

Came here after looking online for places to go to in Bath. Was definitely somewhere I will be returning in a hurry! We didn't have time to go to the museum however stopped for a quick bite. The buns were massive (and only 1/2 of a full one) and absolutely delicious, ordered with jam and clotted cream (their own take on the traditional scone) and did not disappoint. We went around 2/3pm and it wasn't busy however this was on a weekday, not in school holidays. Would suggest booking if going in the evening or weekends as can get very busy. The interior is beautiful and relative to the vintage history. Somewhere you have to go if visiting Bath! 👌

Aside from finding out that the museum is actually a small gift shop in the basement, we enjoyed the experience. TBH, we were here to see the little museum. But when you open the door, a server will quickly greet you and welcome you into the restaurant. Well, the museum is only open for customers of the restaurant. To our surprise, the food was great. The buns were very fresh and we absolutely loved the jam! The service was on point as well.
