We tried the 3 courses for £27 and a carafe of white separately. Each course was scrumptious. Of special note was the soup, poured theatrically over the egg and fillings within; the Montgomery cheddar souffle - light and airy as a dream and the chicken jambonette with the most amazing crispy ham and potato side you've ever had. Highly recommend. Whilst food portions aren't massive, we were full with 3 courses.
Really good food, especially the celeriac soup with pigs head beignet. Yum. The overall feel of the interior design is less impressive. Staff were friendly but not the most attentive. do we need to ask the dessert menu or the bill twice?

We stopped in around 8:30PM on a Friday night, no reservation, and were lucky to get a table for two. The service was attentive and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. I had the lamb with a jacket potato and it was about the most flavourful piece of meat I have ever eaten - delicious. My wife had the cod with gnocchi and it, too was delicious. It was a great dinner.
My favorite restaurant in London! I live locally and is quite a treat to go here. They do a really good Sunday lunch deal which makes it affordable. Great cocktails and wine. Amazing waiters and service could not recommend it enough.
I would never go back to Sonny's Kitchen. It is extremely overpriced and not good food. I took my elderly Mother there. She ordered the lamb, which was so tough she left most of it. I ordered the gnocchi, the only vegetarian dish on the menu which was tepid. They whisked away our starters in order to serve the main before asking if we had finished. The toilets are up a fairly steep staircase and not at all suitable for the older customer, with a slight disability. After questioning the bill they agreed to take the lamb dish off. Much nicer restaurants in Barnes than this one, and friendlier staff too.
The restaurant was quiet yet the service was very slow. The waitress was miserable and abrupt , not even a smile. She had no idea about service . I asked for mash instead of chips and all i got was a curt no. We had the crumble which had very little fruit. Very disapointed. There was four of us and we all agreed it was a poor experience. Not a place to go again. The final bill of 110 included a tip! I was tempted to ask for a refund! Need some serious training!
A chilled out evening. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However the steak was a bit over the amount I would normally spend and was unfortunately average. The main course took one hour and a half-ish to come although we did have starters. If not for the a bit steep pricing.
Sonny's had been off my radar for a few years until I revisited last night with a very discerning and dynamic nonagenarian. She was utterly charmed by the whole experience: attractive and welcoming ambience, impeccable Maitre d', delightful waitress and food that was superb and special without being fussy or pretentious. I had pork belly with delicious accompaniments and perfectly cooked green vegetables as sides. Since we were buzzing across the road to the cinema at 9.15 we didn't have time for dessert, but will definitely be back soon to enjoy a more leisurely dinner.
Not an awful experience, but the fish pie was like chewing on old cardboard, so dry, so much potato and so little fish. Poor at best. Wine list gone down hill as well. Service good - but that is not enough.
