UPDATE: back again, still one of my favourite Greek restaurants. Such friendly, lovely people and they radiate genuinely kind hospitality. Delicious food, generous serves, very reasonable prices. Plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans and keto / low-carb. They also prompt you to take it home if you can’t finish - really love the efforts to respect the food and reduce waste! *** I’ve been to Kalamari twice, and each time has been the same fun, friendly and warm experience, full of laughter and chats that carry on late into the night. The service is terrific and will make you feel right at home. We’ve tried the calamari, moussaka, stuffed squid and slow-cooked lamb - each dish tastes like a homemade hug, which is exactly how Greece feels to me. My favourite so far is the lamb, although I’d try it with potatoes next time as the rice was a bit salty for my personal taste. I can also recommend the moussaka, because who doesn’t love a dish that’s served in what it’s baked? All the dips are fantastic - it will be really tempting but do not make the rookie mistake we made and stuff yourself silly with the endless warm pita bread, and leave barely any room for dessert although the baklava was way too sweet for me, so my friend finished it off!. Prices are reasonable and good value. Would recommend!
Kalamari is a Greek spot on Chiswick high. We originally came here due to the Amex shop small offer but only to find out that they stopped accepting Amex. Regardless, the food was decent and the restaurant seems popular with locals. The mezze platter was good with the delicious pitta bread. The halloumi was really good especially with the chilli jam. The calamari ironically was average. We ordered two grilled dishes and they were nice. The meatball in one of them was tasty. The slow cooked lamb was mixed. Some parts were really good but other parts were rubbery. Wines and dessert was good options too. The restaurant was playing some really loud music. That made it a little hard to converse. Think it was playing off YouTube or something with the occasional ad.
The Mezze was fantastic! Lovely food. Great service. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back again.Food: 5/5
great dips and grilled chicken! have been with family many times across a span of around 7 years and would certainly reccommend! their high quality has remained consistent throughout my visits too! :
It's really nice restaurant! Very calming music and beautifully painted walls. Great service. The foods are very very delicious! I took my partner here for his birthday and he was very impressed with it. I am very happy I found this place. We highly recommend to everyone to try this out! Thank you very much for the amazing time!!!
A true hidden gem. My partner and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at this wonderful eatery. From the moment we arrived, we were transported to a lovely piece of Greece the atmosphere decor all were a great supporting cast to the true star of the experience, the authentic and wonderful food which we both enjoyed Full compliments to the chef and the front of house staff who made us feel so welcome
This afternoon about 4pm, 3 of us popped in to Kalamari; at that hour, it wasn't busy, only 2 other tables with customers. We had the most DELICIOUS meal outside of Cyprus, where I lived for a few years. The waiter was a young guy who was very friendly, and just for me, he changed the background mixed Greek playlist to just Yiannis Ploutarhos The food and the music took me straight back to my Cyprus days. Two of us had sea bream, which was succulent, moist and delicious, even the veg was very tasty. The third member of our party had the mixed grill and she also enjoyed her meal. Kalamari is a lovely little restaurant, the staff are welcoming, and the food really is SO good.
Came here for a family meal on midweek evening. Service was very good with friendly staff & was fast. The dips with bread were good but the starters & main courses all were very salty so not so enjoyable unless you like salty food. The good thing with the food is that it's fresh. I would consider going back if can ask them to cook the dishes with no or very little salt.
Decided to check out this Greek restaurant on chiswick High Road l, and pleasantly surprised reasonably sized place was busy on Monday but guess because of the Boris eat out scheme. It took a while for our order but it was well worth the wait we ordered the seabass with vegtatables and Kleftiko which is Lamb shoulder slow roasted in the oven, served with rice was cooked to perfection the flavour seeping through all the way in the lamb. Cost was £25 with a dip and some bread too
Amazing restaurant! The food was delicious and fresh! the waiter was polite and kind : we had a great time thereRecommended dishesKalamari Grilled, Greek Salad, Mezze Platter
