The location is amazing, lovely views across the lake, great time walking around. Really welcoming staff providing a great service. Allowed free parking for my coach across the road. No phone reception at all. Luckily had WiFi. Room was tiny with only a bunk bed sink and a bedside cabinet in. It had a tiny skylight window in which only opens so much. Shared toilet and shower facilities which were next to my room and were clean but small. Had an annoying water pump system which kept me up most the night.
Disappointed that it is only open for groups so didn't get to stay On the plus side it was very phone signal unfriendly in the area so latched onto the hostels WiFi so I could get in touch with the little ladies at home to let them know I was safe
We had a fantastic stay here. Extremely impressed with the food, the cleanliness, lovely hot showers, and comfy beds. The staff were all friendly and really helpful. Would definitely stay again. Excellent value for money. Perfect base for the ranger's path ascent of Snowdon.
Staff really nice and helpful, although on the website there is an information about free parking, in real it's just 6 spaces a front of the hostel which unfortunately it's not enough, we and couple other guests were forced to pay for parking nearby. Showers are really good really hot water - amazing after all day hike in rain!. Overall we came there due to the easy access to the hike path and it did deliver.
The best path up snowdon in all weathers. 8.3 miles from the snowdon ranger carpark and back and at this time of year....january, mid week its virtually deserted until u get to the top...wonnderful views and an exhilerating day out! Keep safe. Keep warm and dry with the right gear.
Stayed with 2 friends. The room itself was good and fit for purpose. Facilities were good. No issues with toilets or showers and the kitchen was easy to use and fully stocked with pots,pans, utensils, etc. Guests were respectful and staff were friendly. Only down point is the lack of outlets in the room. Might want to bring a power bar.
No phone signal, no buses, me and my daughter were in trouble. But the personnel were 10x!!! Extremely helpful and kind!! Especially the "russian" chef : thank you and I totally recommend! Grace to them we ve managed to get a car to pick up our from Llanberis!!Rooms: 5/5
Basic hostel accommodation, but perfect location to start climbing the Snowdon Snowdon Ranger Path. There was a bit of feet stink from previous guests. But otherwise nothing serious to complain about. Also great vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast. The gentleman at the reception was very kind and accommodating, as we came almost five hours later than planned. Also gave very helpful information regarding parking and let us stay parked on the free hostel's spots even after we checked out. Overall a pleasant experience, and location is hard to beat not only proximity to Snowdon but also to Llyn Cwellyn, which is exceptionally clear and quite enjoyable to soak in after hiking.
Stayed here October 2017 as part of a collehe group. Lovely big dorm rooms, mine was on the top floor so nice and quiet with lots of light. I got bed bug bites and athletes foot. Except from this it's a lovely little hostel, just wear something on your feet in the shower!
Absolutely amazing location, on a lake, mountains in front and behind you. Walking distance to catch the heritage train up the Snowdon summit. The hostel was clean and had almost everything I needed, hair dryer as a back packing girl still has needs.
