It was a surprise to walk into a large but well thought out pub/diner, with river view! We both had the scampi, one with a really good salad and one with chips and peas. This cost us just £5 each. The staff were lovely. We will go there again.

Me and a fellow friend, attend to lunch at this Slug and Lettuce chain most Tuesdays. From a customer's point of view, I do recommend going to this Slug and Lettuce for some lunch in Newbury with a bunch of fellow friends. I would also like to commend the staff who work at this Slug and lettuce chain in Newbury. The staff are all pleasant and genuine people, a particular member of Staff who's name is Jack, does his job superb and is a genuine guy, who is professional and kind to his customers. Also the other staff who work here are really nice, however Jack really stands out from the other members of the team because he has a genuine conversation with you, and try's to make you feel at home. Also the other members of the team are brilliant and also deserve a pat on the back.

Wasn't overly impressed with this bar. Service was very slow even though there were lots of staff working. Seemed more interested in their phones. When our food eventually came out it was only ok. Wont be in a rush back.

Went with a friend for their afternoon Tipsy Tea, it was fab, service was excellent!! The best we've had, and we've been to some lovely venues. We didn't expect the guys to be so efficient and organised!

Now that the venue has changed from Hogs Head, it is fabulous. A front bar area that you can hire for any event, and the space in the main bar is so big. Loads of comfortable seating, and just right for celebrating any occasion. 2-4-1 cocktails is the best thing for a weekend party night.
