Skiff Inn

Went for food, nice and roomy inside. The staff were courteous and didn't keep us waiting for orders. No check back, but that doesn't bother me. My food was spot on, really enjoyed it. Mrs got chicken madras which had mushrooms and something else in not usually in a madras. Chilled out place, car parking to the side and more nearby.

My experience as a single diner has been nothing like the others. The service was terrible with a waitress being sent to my table after a wait. She was impatient and rushed through my order, no smile, nothing. My 12oz gammon came quite quickly and the plate looked promising, nice home cooked chips, some onion rings, mushrooms and a pot of fresh salad. Unfortunately the very thin gammon had been overcooked to the point of being a biscuit in many places. No check back, an empty glass and I barely saw one of the 4 staff who were serving. I wasn't alone in my displeasure it seems. I started this review 2 minutes after my plate was taken, wasn't even asked if it was OK, and I still have an empty glass and no response from the staff almost 10minutes later. I'm just waiting to get the bill so I can go across to TGI Fridays for a decent pudding and some quality service.

Lovely place tucked away beside metro centre. Decent choice of gluten free on menu but nothing on desert menu except ice cream. Good choice of drinks and very nice staff.

We eat here every pay day and they will happily seat 20+ people at the table. We can ring in early with the order and have little to no waiting at the table for food. The food is always great, never had a bad meal in the 3 years I've been going. I'd thoroughly recommend the burgers.

Just delicious. The service was great, we often go out as a larger party and sometimes venues struggle to accommodate but not here, the staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.  The food was absolutely gorgeous, not one dish was less than brilliant. Staff were very knowledgeable. Our food was very quick and we ate nearly every bit. Portions were huge . And the prices are fab. Overall a brilliant experience. Busy at time but what do you expect with such great food. We will be back again .
