The Silk Society has gained a great reputation over it's 15 years with an amazing assortment of fabulous fabric within this small shop, on a corner of Berwick Street! The fabrics can be seen in movies, on stage and on television. With so many fabric types and variations; from silk to rubber, lace to faux fur, it's a fascinating experience for anyone looking for fabric.

We were looking for a particular colour combination of silks, and worked our way through 3 or 4 shops before we got to the silk society. NONE of the other shops had adequate variety of colours, but The Silk Society had an amazing selection of all the colours we wanted, AND amazing customer service. Valentina helped us pick out six colours and then asked what we'd be making, so that she could recommend lengths of each. They also made us a sample card two of us shopping, one taking the fabric, the other the samples. Simply fantastic, and 100% recommended.

Buying fabric here is a joy thanks to Katie Carter who goes above and beyond to help you. She’s an amazing lady with such expertise.It is expensive but saves trekking round london for a bargain if time isn’t on your side. One of several co-owned shops within a stones throw of each other, staff will go ferreting through their combined stock rooms to find just what you’re looking for.

I run a bespoke bridal business called Blake Ida Bridal and The Silk Society is my go-to. Not only does it stock the best fabrics in town, the staff are also incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.  Highly recommend.

The best fabrics. You can find almost anything from silk, to lace, beaded fabrics, sequins..etc. High prices but high quality also.

Very nice customer service and helpful. Prices are fair. The selection of fabric is really varied and lush. A breeze of fresh air compared to other shops in the area which have awful unfriendly staff. Will come back for sure and will definitely recommend to my friends.

Rude staff. I asked if they had any trimming, and the girls working there after judging my appearance replied "yes but only very fancy ones which you may not be interested in" Although she could have seen me only looking at heavily embellished fabric which was exactly what I wanted

Both SILK shops have lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Always nice to come in for inspiration and advice. It's just SO expensive!
