Macculloch & Wallis

About

Suppliers to the fashion and theatre businesses since 1902

Story

In 1902 we were supplying haberdashery, interlinings, and millinery materials to the couture trade in the West End. In the '50s we imported wholesale silks from The East, in the '80s we let the public in on the secret and expanded our range from the most comprehensive collection of foundation materials to include outer trimmings and fabrics from all over the world. We now have three floors of wools, silks, jerseys, zips, threads, laces, flowers, feathers, elastic, boning, ribbons, tape, webbing, shoulder pads, buckles, buttons, and a basement full of interlining. We're right in the middle of London's West End where we've always been but if you can't make it in to see us please try our site where you're more likely to be able to browse our enormous range whilst sipping a cup of tea.

"Central London’s oldest fabric & haberdashery emporium, now also offering a unique selection of knitting yarns. We operate a full online and Click & Collect service."

Heaven!!!! I usually lost there for hour minimum. Such a gem, professional haberdashery shop. Very friendly, quick, helpful, big variety of everything. Millinery, belts, buckles, ribbons, strips, fabrics, threads, very creative environment for people who make things!!! Everything is there.
Victoria is amazing! I popped into this shop today to buy fabric for an upcoming beginners sewing class I signed up for. This shopping experience was a complete 180 compared to the experience I had at another big fabric store I stopped by the day before…where I left overwhelmed, uncomfortable, and unclear on the type of fabric I should consider leading me to give MacCulloch & Wallis a try today. Victoria made this process very easy for me by advising on suitable fabrics for a skirt and even helping find a concealed zip for the project. She made me feel very comfortable and was very welcoming, just what I needed as a beginner. I am dedicated to sticking to learning to sew and I will 100% be back to purchase fabric/supplies for future classes/projects. I REALLY appreciate people like Victoria!!!
Absolutely wonderful establishment! Visited for the first time a week or so ago and was immediately wowed by the range of products on display. An awful lot of people were coming through the shop - with all manner of enquiries it seemed from what I could gather - but all of us were dealt with in a prompt and friendly fashion and with a confidence in a deep knowledge of haberdashery. A 'regular' I will definitely be.
the shop has an amazing choice of fabrics and haberdasheries. The staff has a serious lack of motivation, they're so talkative between themselves, they're not helpful at all, the ones working on fabric are patronising, they prefer losing the sale the fabric was cut than accepting cash ! now it's cashless....
Good customer service The collection of haberdashery is amazing. The staffs are friendly and polite. Everything bit expensive otherwise my experience is good.
A splendid place with everything that you might need. I needed materials for suits and trousers and found everything I needed and more. Will return. The staff both upstairs and downstairs helped me, even with the most difficult and time-consuming enquiries.
One of the oldest and still modern company name that serve you with anything that the needle threat walk through.. from corset bask to woven bonbons to a rainbow colour shades of zippers… whatever you need… search no more … this is your “go to” stop .
Awesome place. Hard to believe old fashioned shops like this can survive in cut throat London shopping environment. I went to select Gutermann Rayon thread for an embroidery to work with. They had exactly what I wanted.
Just had some superb advice and support from Kimberly , one of the customer support staff at MacCulloch & Wallis Ltd. brilliant service! Looking forward to collecting from their new shop. Many thanks!
Such a fun shop to be in if you are an avid lover of sewing, a beginner or just want to browse and the mass of fabrics and haberdashery. It's a sewing emporium of wonder and I love it! Parking: You'd be lucky to find a space in London but would highly advise using tfl public transport as it's quicker and easier to get to.
