The Embassy is Southport longest established fish & chip restaurant and is located on Nevill St next to Southport's famous Lord Street.

Its open daily serving traditional Fish & Chips and a variety of everybody's seaside favourites as well as light snacks and drinks.

We usually go to Fylde chippy on marshside but the last couple of visits have been a little disappointing so we tried here. A mistake, there were only two young people on duty. The chips were under cooked, as were the fish. All in all very poor fair, and hardly cheap, we threw them away.

One star based solely on today's experience, as this is normally a fantastic place to eat with a family. We have been eating here regularly for years and the staff are excellent, professional and friendly. Today, however, we had an awful experience with a member of staff we have not seen before. She was rude and aggressive in her manner, and extremely unprofessional in the way the spoke to us and also the other staff in front of us. She served the dishes at different times and with extremely small portion sizes- one of our meals had 8 chips on!!! When i raised this politely I was told in an aggressive manner that it was portion control and obviously staff had been serving too much on other visits. I have never had an unpleasant experience here before and I hoping that the next time we come this lady will not be there. Otherwise, I am afraid , after many years it will be time to move on. To the rest if the staff a huge well done and thank you as always.

Maybe due to going out of season (when there's less through-put) but their takeaway cod & chips last night were literally the worst seaside fish & chips we've ever tasted. Batter was thicker than the fish, soggy and spongy rather than crisp and golden and the chips tasted like they'd been kept warm for way too long. Very disappointing.
