Shrubbery Caravan & Camping Park
"Shrubbery Touring Park is a family run 10 acre campsite nestled in a small village called Rousdon on the Jurassic Coast. It is just a 10 minute drive to both Lyme Regis or Seaton which are two extremely popular places to visit on the South Coast. Shrubbery Touring Park is great for both adults looking to find some peace and quiet in the adult only section and young families looking for somewhere with a play park that is overlooked by many pitches making it easy for parents to relax while their kids play."

We were let down by another site we had booked with and then spent 3hrs looking for somewhere to pitch with our caravan and 2 young boys, by 6pm we had landed lucky with Shrubbery campsite, fortunately there were a few pitches free that we could choose from, Margaret the lady who was on reception was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The pitches are flat and very well kept, there is a fantastic play park and crazy golf on site. The shower and toilet blocks were up to date and very clean. Always well stocked with toilet roll and soap, even sanitary bags and bins in each cubicle. Shower blocks variated to a single person shower and also family showers in seperate blocks single showers were those that you push in every minute and the temp seemed to be set but was very comfortable, but the family ones were constant and you could regulate your own temperature, included a shower screen, seat, sink, toilet and even a pull down baby changing unit. Of course a few cobwebs and bugs about but what do you expect out in the open. House Martins nesting on the outside of the blocks which were wonderful to see and watch them going about their business a twitchers dream Plenty of areas to put refuse and recycling which appeared to be emptied daily so no build up of people's waste. Pitches very well spaced out a good mixture of tents, touring vans and motor homes. Close to various visiting places. A good shop which includes all sorts of yummy food, drink and ice creams. Pricing was alot more than we would normally pay, but for such a fantastic place we thought it was worth it, and we stayed for 6 nights. All in all a fabulous place to stay, we would stay there again when we next visit this end of the country.
Shrubbery Park is in a great position, set back off the main road. Road noise was not a problem at all. We were greeted by a very helpful person on reception who explained where everthing was. The map doesn't highlight where taps are but we found them in the hedge line. The motorhome service point has a tap and drive over grey waste. Pitches are quite large and on hard standing, also level. Dogs are welcome and there is a dog walk down one side of the site. Showers and toilets are clean and tidy. It's convenient for visiting places like Lyme Regis and further afield like Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. Would stay here again, lovely site.
Visited shrubbery Park this weekend. Positives: Location is ok, nice and close to a few places. Pitches are great, nice & flat, fresh cut grass. Plenty of water supply around. Place itself outside is well maintained. Staff seem friendly enough from the interaction I had with them. Negatives: Very out-dated facilities, serious serious improvements needed there. 2023 could at least have some plasterboard & plaster on the ceilings… cobwebs & bugs everywhere. Even after a clean can tell it’s a basic once over not a proper clean as it should be for £40 a night.. shower is set to 3 seconds before it turns off again, power is awful had to keep head against the shower box to stay under the water. Minimum charge on card is £5 in the shop even tho the law changed years ago that isn’t allowed anymore. Overall. Great place to pitch your tent..if you don’t need the toilet or don’t need a shower for the short period your there. won’t return personally but if you are rough and ready then have a go.
We have been staying on this site for the last 15 years, must say have had some brilliant holidays. However this last 12 months the standards have dropped. Shower blocks are not kept so clean now as have been in previous years. Like a previous review I have read, we have had some really noisy groups by us at times and nothing really done about it. It is with great regret we will not be staying there again. Also be aware that people are being charged different prices for their electricity per night for their pitch.
What a gem of a camp site, lovely and quiet. nice dog walk, clean shower block, lovely guy in reception. We booked again in Aug. My only negative would have been nice to have a place to wash the dog couldn't see one in the shower block by reception.Location: 5/5
Amazing campsite. Friendly, clean and although busy we still felt like we had plenty of privacy. Fantastic play area for the children. Lovely walk for dogs, facilities all clean and well maintained. Well kept site lovely flowers everywhere you look. Amazing. We loved every moment of our stay.
Amazing campsite. This was our first holiday in our campervan and it will be hard to beat this place already! Really clean with brilliant amenities and the staff are fantastic. The lady and the lads who run /help are so helpful. The area is really well set out so you have enough room and amenities close by. It's great for families as the park is central so the kids just run off make friends and play all day. We've never had to much free time! Will definitely be returning.
This really is a lovely site. Helpful staff, Showers are hot, pitches generous in size, facilities clean, Laundry great with tumble driers as well as washing machines. The site is pleasantly landscaped with well maintained trees and hedges. Every thing is calm and tranquil and safe for children too. The road on which the site is located serves lots of local attractions and enjoys good bus routes. The only downside is you need to drive to access public footpaths and there is no local pub but that’s not the end of the world.
My wife and I camped here for the first time with our kids recently. The site is very well maintained and the pitch size was generous. The park is great for the kids and it is so easy to get to Lyme Regis. Highly recommended!
Unfortunately we had to cancel an upcoming visit for unforeseen circumstances which must happen a lot nowadays, was told non refundable deposit which is fair enough but also I think very short sited as a transfer of deposit as we’ve done elsewhere would of meant us still visiting the site in the future and spending more money on doing so but now we shall not be returning been few times in past so it seems a false economy for the site, in fact on our last visit we we’re 3 vans 6 people none will be returning. Nice enough site just a poor deposit policy as cancelled in plenty of time for them to relet pitch even if indeed it’s full at that time of year mid September.
