I know Monkton Wyld caravan park and have visited many times. It is indeed a very nice site with friendly staff and beautifully kept grounds and buildings. A recent visit showed the new shower block to be nearly finished. The bus stop is exactly 1 mile away as it is advertised. I have never seen anywhere where it is stated to be 600 meters and it is a completely level walk which does only take 20 minutes. I can only assume that the previous reviewer is either is thinking of a different park or walked to a different bus stop!

A very nice site, but beware; it is much more than the quoted 600m to the bus stop! It's more like greater than 1.5km - certainly a good 30-40 min walk! ...and uphill on the way back!

Easter weekend such a shame it was so wet and unable to park by the caravans. However you could see the staff were doing their best to preserve the site from being damaged. Great job well done..

This site promises so much on site food outlets (Franchised) that are closed more than they are open. The secondary (older) shower block is well past it's sell by date. With the new building not yet completed, despite plans showing completion before the end of the 2017 season. It's lovely looking site with nice pitches, but avoid the grass pitches in all but the driest of summers, as they soon become water logged and the newer wash block is kept clean and tidy, but use the outer shower cubicles, as the inner was tend to pool in water on the uneven surface. Would I stay again. No.
