Wonderful spot, we echo all the positive reviews about the Hook Farm experience. We stayed in the Shepherd Hut for 4 nights.. it was great fun, a short walk to the toilet block and shop. We didn't cook but ate at The Talbot which was fine. R Thank you Luke and the other staff for everything. Charles and Judith. Note - pensioners can still enjoy new experiences
Just had 3 nights here as I was doing a course at River Cottage and Hook farm is nice and close. Really lovely site, nicely laid out so you don't feel you're on top of each other, shower block was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly, chatty and accommodating and other facilities are great. All in all a very pleasant stay which I will certainly be doing again. Thankyou.
Great campsite with great facilities. Showers and hair dryers only 20p, the toilets and showers were regularly cleaned. The site is on different levels and is separated with hedgerows and trees which gives each pitch a bit more privacy than an open field. The walk is approx. 30mins to Lyme Regis but if you follow the River Lim ita a beautiful walk with cover from the sun.
Some campsites have perfect pitches in neat rows with little box hedges and shrubs in-between. Not Hook Farm, and it's all the better for it. Only camper vans, motorhomes & tents, on pitches which face in all directions on various levels, down the side of a valley. The staff are very friendly, and the toilets & showers 20p for 4 minutes are immaculate. Away from the site, five minutes down the hill is a pub, garage & general store, and a bus stop for Bridport, West Bay & Weymouth. Also the start of a 30 minute riverside walk into Lyme. All in all, a super site, and I am sure we will be back.
As camping newbies we decided Hook Farm would be our first choice and we weren't disappointed. We had a great pitch, the site itself is well laid out and the toilet and shower facilities were excellent we had a warm welcome from Dean and his wife, all the staff were friendly and you can tell enjoy working there. It was busy with families and couples, however you never felt cooped together as you have a good space with your pitch. The location is beautiful, with rolling hills, but at night, the stars are amazing so many to see with such little light pollution, it truly was a great place to have a break and we are already planning a return to this beautiful place.
Stayed for one night, a stop over on a trip to Newquay. We were very impressed with the site. Nice pitches with electric hook up. Nice clean facilities. Restrooms: Very clean.
Been to stay twice now, such a beautiful campsite. Lovely and quiet. Lyme walkable by lovely river walk or 5 min drive. Loads to do in the area. Great sized pitches and facilities are the best I've seen at a campsite, always clean, lots of space and great quality
Wonderful people run this place. A variety of pitches, with an essentials shop and the cleanest toilet blocks I've ever seen on a campsite. I am so fortunate to have been able to sit out the heatwave here.
After a 6 hour drive to hook farm we pitched up got all set up to start our holiday and were told to take down our free standing awing or leave as it wasn't a drive a way awning. There was 2 other people on the site with the same set up as us and they had been allowed to stay. The site owner was rude when I confronted him about the other 2 people on site. We had booked in for 3 nights costing £90 we could only stay 1 night as we couldnt stay without our awning so the site owner charged us £50 booking fee and sent a email staying sorry you left as a goodwill gesture I'll refund you £10. COST US £80 FOR 1 NIGHT CAMPING
There is a reason that this place only takes certain size motor homes. The lane is too small for large vehicles. You will damage your vehicle. The staff very helpful but as we drove there without contacting them. We found out the hard way that we could not stay there.
