Absolutely amazing place with a massive variety of fish, accessories and essentials. They also have a great selection of insects and reptiles! They have everything you could want and the staff are so polite and helpful. The store is extremely clean and well layed out. Outside they have a good selection of ponds, pond accessories, pond fish and even waterfalls!! I really reccomend checking this place out for all your aquatic needs. Oh they even have a shark!!

Had first class experience, even though not spending a fortune, nothing is too much trouble. A wealth of knowledge, no matter how many questions you ask. Can’t recommend this store enough! Peter was Uber helpful and gave quality expert advice… Other staff members really friendly… will be shopping here for all of my future pond needs…

Spent near £200 in Shirley aquatics over past few weeks. We reserved an axolotl to collect at end of March, went into store yesterday to ask for a little bit more info on housing with other fish as sources are contradictory. One staff member was extremely unapproachable & when I said excuse me to him young dark haired employee, he didn’t even bother turning around to reply. He answered in a very rude way & shut down the conversation very quickly & said he refused to sell us fish for our tank as he believed they were all ‘lives’ especially if being housed with an axolotl which may eat a few of them. I can understand this to a certain degree as we want the best for our pets, but at a fish shop where live food is sold, fish that eat other fish as their diet & many other contractions, I feel I was attacked unnecessarily. My partner & I are actually vegan & have a massive 5ft tank cycling for the axolotl, we only wanted some info & maybe a hand full of fish. I can’t imagine they’d come to any harm in such a large spacious tank compared to the match stick box size tank they are kept in, in store. I hope this employee is vegan too, if this is his mindset regarding ‘lives’. The tank would be identical to how they’d live in the wild. Disappointed is an understatement. Personal views & beliefs shouldn’t cause an employee to be so obnoxious & rude when answering questions. If your personal beliefs mean you’re unable to sell fish which would be going into an amazing well put together tank with hundreds of plants, work somewhere else. Will be cancelling my reservation for the axolotl & buying from somewhere where staff talk to you like a human being.

I came and purchased some fish and I was confidently advised by Millie! Fish have settled in fantastically. She was very approachable and knew exactly what I wanted!  Definitely will be coming back

This place is excellent. It's worth going just to look at the fish displays! It has a wide range of healthy plants and fish. Excellent customer service and knowledge from Connor. Gave advice on purchasing a new filter for my pond. Very patient with questions and had a great idea on how to site the new filter so it blended into my garden and pond. Also, Julie on the plant section is very knowledgeable regarding the varied range of plants available. She's the Monty Don of the aquatic gardening world! Highly recommended

!!!DO NOT BUY FROZEN FOOD FROM THIS… !!!DO NOT BUY FROZEN FOOD FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Received my order yesterday 07-02-23which was sent on 06-02-23 which consisted of 1kg of frozen river shrimp 2 x 500g whitebait and 3 bags of large bloodworm and when i opened the package the frozen river shrimp had defrosted, the whitebait had defrosted and the live bloodworm were dead , i emailed yesterday explaining what has happened and then was asked the send proof which i did , then got a phone call today from a lovely lady who was trying to resolve this issue and her manager basically said the food is gamma radiated and therefore can be refrozen . But im not risking re freezing food that i would be feeding to very expensive and long lived fish which im sure a lot of other people would feel the same about and although they agreed to refund the dead bloodworm , they refused to refund or replace the so called "frozen" food which wasnt very frozen at all , its safe to say i will never be ordering from them again!!!

Just acclimated this beautiful Oranda! Beautiful fish quality is superb! Staff where helpful amazing selection of fish. one of the best in the UK without a doubt!

Never been but order my frozen food from here very fast and easy to order and comes packed well and still frozen fast delivery to, would highly recommend to anyone who feeds frozen food to their fish, great online stock to everything you need for your fish so go check them out
