We called here for a Sunday carvery however me and my son ordered off the menu, he had fish and chips and I had gammon salad and both were beautiful, all the rest of the family had a carvery and again they were lovely, the bar staff were attentive and they catered for dogs and we had 4 with us and we felt really comfortable, after our meal we sat outside listening to the love band and half an hour later we were offered a free pizza as they had some left over and I have to say the tomato sauce/paste was the best I have ever tasted, drinks were very reasonably priced, bar staff fun and helpful, brilliant we would definitely come back.
Popped into the ship Inn to find somewhere nice to eat and we wasn't disappointed! Service was great! Very friendly staff! Very spacious, somewhere for the kids outside as well! Food was amazing I went with the bbq pulled pork burger off the specials which was amazing. Nice bit of coleslaw and the homemade chips were beautiful! My friend got the jerk chicken which was a mixture of flavours and if you like food with a little kick that's your meal! Very nice place would come again when in the area!
Service was great very friendly, nice atmosphere. a lovely beer garden but as it was raining we chose to go inside but there was a covered area to the side of the beer garden. We had the steak and kidney pie with mushy pea and chips, portions are generous and we struggled to finish it all. There were quite a few walkers with dogs so it is dog friendly a good place for all the family, it had one of the best atmospheres Ive ever experienced, so relaxed and welcoming.
Good helpful staff and range of beers I didn't eat there but the menu looked interesting and smelled great.
Drinks were good and not overly priced. Facilities were great, especially for dog owners. Had the pizza's. Base was nice, pepperoni was a little spicy for my Son on the kids pizza. Need to revise the menu, do some more classics as the Ranch base with Pickles was too acidic and unbalanced, albeit well cooked and the Big Mac also. I am an ex Chef so know what I'm talking about. I would go again as it is well located and drinks/facilities were fine.
Fabulous food served by very helpful and polite staff. Thoroughly enjoyed
Food was absolutely delicious. I had flat iron steak, the wife, pork and sausage pie. Staff always friendly and helpful especially Emily, thanks for the last minute rearranging. Beautiful views in the beer garden. Lovely and cosy inside and dog friendly. Can’t fault
I was very impressed by the Ship Inn,though it was busy we were shown to our table quickly by a very friendly waitress sorry I can’t remember her name our food order was taking and our meals arrived promptly, the fish was massive!!! We were to full to eat a sweet but I watched other diner’s devour some tasty looking treats!! Though we were not rushed to leave our table we decided to enjoy another drink in the fabulous beer garden, newly renovated I’m lead to believe with amazing view’s of the bay and beyond!! Thank you,we will be returning!
My husband and I really enjoyed our meal here. As it was a Sunday lunchtime, we opted for the carvery. I decided on the stuffed pork loin which was plentiful and tasty. The vegetables, which we helped ourselves to were fresh and not overcooked I hate soggy veg! Everything was piping hot and reasonably priced. Staff were polite and professional. I would definitely recommend especially to dog owners! Sowerby Hall and Gardens are also a short walk away.
Great spot for a pub just up the steps from the beach and around the corner from Sewerby Park. Not the cheapest of places for drinks. They had a nice sitting out area and a small park down the bottom side. They also do touring pitches at the end of the car park/on field in front which was useful to know.
