Best pub in the area. Spacious, reasonable selection of beers, selection of board games, looks nice inside.
Great chilled relaxed atmosphere. Warm welcome for kids and dogs. Lovely food - Sunday roast is a must. Pub quiz, open mic nights what more do you want? Oh yes - good range of local beers!
I went to the Shelverdine Goathouse last night for the quiz night, and it was a great night out. The quiz was great fun and there was a really nice atmosphere in the pub, and they also have a little kids corner to keep the little ones happy which is always a nice touch, but I want to give a special mention to the chef Alfie. The food last night was on point, even though menu choices are limited, the food is cooked to perfection. I am a notoriously fussy eater and he cooked my food to my specific instructions which was appreciated and it tasted amazing. My partner had a beef and bone marrow burger and he said it was very nice and wasn’t dry like some burgers he’s had recently. We will be going back to the Shelverdine Goathouse soon, for quizzes and food! I really recommend this place!
I only had two pints of two different pale ales and it was my first visit here. It was a bit cold, but in the current world I don't blame them as I'd rather the pub survived. It had a nice vibe, staff were v pleasant and the conversations I earwigged before shopping at Aldi were actually very cool. So far, it's the nicest pub near Thornton Heath other than Crystal Palace I've found so I'll try it again. The beers were acceptable condition, but not optimum.
I really like this pub and want to keep visiting, but they really need to improve on the heating. I know it's expensive at the moment, but you can't expect people to visit and spend money on drinks and food when it's so cold inside. I had to sit with my coat on throughout the night. I asked about turning heating on and was told there's only one AC in another room... perhaps a portable one could be purchased for the main bit? And perhaps the menu could be updated?

Really cool vibe and quirky inside. I can't remember a time I had a better roast than at the Goat house, it was beyond good. Family and dog friendly.
Had a VERY nice fish and chips last night. Prosecco wasn't great though. The Provence Rosé was, however, rather nice.
Great selection of beers for South London, including a couple of mainstream craft on tap e.g. Siren. Can't complain at all!
This place has a lovely ambience and great staff. Sadly my roast was not so great, it had great flavour but my beef was tough and dry, the Yorkshire pudding was dry and overcooked and the roast potatoes tasted reheated. I might try other food here and come back for drinks, but I won't be having another roast here.
