Our favourite, Pay and Display beachside car park in Torquay is situated on Shedden Hill Road adjacent to the Premier Inn. It's a huge site with plenty of spaces, two ticket machines on the right as you enter that take cash and contactless payments. It's a five minute walk to the seafront and 15mins from the harbour side cafes and shops. Bus connections to Brixham, Paignton are just over the coastal road.
We were staying at the Premier Inn and the hotel overflow parking led into council operated pay and display car park. The parking places are small and with it been a Bank Holiday weekend there was limited spaces. We paid £9 for 24 hours and you need to enter your car registration at the ticket machine. It's the closest car park if you are visiting the beach.
Warning this is one of those scummy stop the parking when you leave locations. Utterly pointless and unnecessary. With a "normal" car park you set how long you want and extend as needed. This remember to click when you leave is simply a way to scam people out of more money over 4 hours is NINE bloody pound!!. Avoid this car park and find others that don't try and rinse customers of money!!!
Superb views and lovely walk.
Like all parking, it's expensive. Do not park there if it's rough seas! The sea will throw good size stones over the wall.
Great location and convenient to use. Highly recommended as so close to the main areas.
A large chargeable Council carpark at the back of the Premier Inn which is ideally located for both the beach & harbour, as well as an extension to the hotel & beefeater restaurant if like me, you are unable to get a parking space when you check in, reasonable rates for overnight from 6pm as long as you leave by 8am.
Shedden Hill car park is within walking distance of Torquay seafront, reasonable prices , slight gradient to return to car park , disabled parking, spaces are a bit tight could be better.
Handy for the Theatre, but really annoying that you can't pay a fixed amount on Ringo, you have to remember to stop it again when you get back to the car.
There were plenty of spaces and everywhere that we wanted to visit was within easy walking distance. Slightly expensive but isn't that most car parks. Most people I saw here were smiling but that could have been due to the sunny weather?
