DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! I'm committed to spreading the word about this garage's unacceptable practices across my social platforms, highlighting Mark as a rogue trader, a sentiment echoed by the police, my solicitor, Citizens Advice, and Trading Standards. Despite our consistent patronage since 2017, this incident has led my family to vow never to return. Consequently, Mark has not only lost me as a customer but approximately 12 other of my family members due to this appalling experience. My 73 year old father-in-law's encounter exemplified this. After fixing his right headlight himself before an MOT, the left headlight was all of a sudden not working “coincidentally” while in his care and Marks response to this was NOT something along the lines of “unfortunately, your MOT has failed” his words were “well old boy, I’m sure you’ll know that it’s failed” when how would he know? when both headlights were working prior to taking it to the garage. Similar manipulation was evident when my starter motor 'coincidentally' malfunctioned in his presence, despite being recently replaced. The charges were exorbitant, with a £400 labour charges only bill for a starter motor that a mobile mechanic fixed for £200 with the part included in half an hour. Furthermore, the garage held my car and blocked my car in with customers cars, cars that are for sale on this websitewhich are clearly not selling btw because his got them up for extortionate prices and his courtesy cars, refusing to release it despite no legal basis and no lien put in place. During a clutch and gearbox repair, they initially quoted £858 for a used gearbox and £652 for other parts and labor. Mark suggested sourcing parts externally, but when I did, they rejected the clutch and hastily installed a second-hand one against their advice. They also claimed a faulty starter motor, an issue not raised initially. Attempts to resolve this amicably failed. What's more telling is that Mark's own son, a mechanic at the garage, did not support or defend his father when challenged about these additional costs. This absence of support speaks volumes about the ethical practices within the garage, personally I would be stepping in to clarify or rectify the situation if my father was in the right or conducting business ethically. Despite my willingness to pay for legitimate services, the garage's attitude and practices are highly unscrupulous. Their treatment of customers is disrespectful, with an utter disregard for accountability. Mark's arrogant and patronizing demeanor only exacerbates the ordeal and that is a real shame because the relatives I believe it is a family business all seem pleasant. In conclusion Mark, if you’re gonna patronize people, talk to them disrespectfully & come with smart remarks such as “my customers problems, are not my problem” and dismiss their concerns, be mindful about maintaining a public presence, for karma spares no one. Continued arrogance and mistreatment of customers could lead to encountering someone unwilling to tolerate such behaviour and it would be very easy to seek such revenge considering your home address is on the internet for everyone to see. Prospective customers, please take note of how he handles negative reviews. Initiating with statements like "nope, not having that" reveals the character of the individual managing this garage. Embracing constructive criticism and acknowledging customers' concerns allows for improvement and business growth, rather than adopting a defensive and hostile approach towards customers expressing dismay. Thankfully I explained the situation to my bank and my solicitor and they helped me get a chargeback from the garage so I got a refund in full but please may I add this was my last resort I tried to liaise with him and partially pay him for what he did correct but his dismissive attitude would not allow that so i had no choice but to recuperate the full cost as that’s all my bank allows.
Absolutely delighted with the service I received at this garage. I had been visiting an elderly relative, and just starting my journey home, which is over 100 miles away, when my tyre light came on, I spotted the garage and asked for help, they checked my tyre only to discover a nail in it, they whipped the tyre off and fixed it, all done in about 20 minutes, so helpful and very friendly, super speedy and very reasonably priced. Excellent service and I would highly recommend. Thank you so much
Recently used Sharnford garage once to change my alternator which they did quickly and efficiently and for a lot less than had been quoted by other mechanic. Also for leak on power steering which they checked but found no leaks which they made no charge for not even for the use of the courtesy car. Brilliant to be able to use an honest and reliable garage will continue to use and would highly recommend. Neil

I have been using Sharnford Garage for 20 of my 55 years of motoring . They have serviced and repaired my vehicles in that time, vans and cars, all of which I have bought from them . The quality of service and mechanical skills is unbeatable and charges way lower than any competitors - I have had quotations for work needed to done while away visiting family , only to have the costs of repair halved when I have brought vehicle back to Sharnford . Mark will explain in detail mechanical problems encountered from an amazing depth of knowledge, shared by his son and two other mechanics . I am always given a courtesy car so I can keep working : I am a builder and very hard on my motors ! Friendly, and so accomodating to any demands . I am running out of superlatives - these guys cannot be beaten . I wouldn't buy a secondhand motor from anywhere else.
Supplied and fitted 4 new tyres on my 1961 TR4, also fitted a steering box on my 1966 A35 van. Excellent service over the years on both my classic & modern vehicles and highly recommended.

Be careful this garage will carry out unnecessary work so that you come back to have further work carried out. this has happened to us twice now. we took a car to them with a fault, they had it three times, each time replacing parts and issuing us with a bill, then having not rectified the fault they told us that we were best to trade the car in for a new one. more recently we have taken a car to them for repair. before taking it we paid for a full diagnostic test from a completely independent garage, and reported the engine fault codes to Sharnford garage, despite being told what the EM codes were they then went on and a totally unrelated part, reset the codes and claimed that the car had been fixed. two days later the EM light came on again. Sharnford garage were then keen to take the car back in for further work. It was only when challenged on the work that they had done previously that they refused to do any further work. They told us we could have a full refund, but then were then not prepared to honour that statement. Very dishonourable people.
Honest, reliable and always very helpful. Definitely recommend this garage. Used for MOTs and car fixes now and can’t fault them. Thank you
