Had two stays at Shakeshaft now - both were lovely in spite of the rain! Beautiful gardens - at least from the windows as it was too wet to explore. Friendly and welcoming hosts, lovely breakfast after a good night in a very comfortable room with the birds in the trees being a great alarm clock. A real country retreat!

I completely lucked out when I stumbled upon Shakeshaft B&B. It's as good as a B&B could get - excellent en-suite bedroom, warm welcome from the two owners, great recommendations for the area and perfect cooked breakfast. I hope to visit again! If you're mountain biking in the area I'd recommend staying here - it's only a 15 minute drive to the start of the Gorlech Trail.
