We’ve been staying at the Ivy Bush for two nights on our great Welsh adventure. The hotel is comfortable and clean although a little quaint, the breakfast is excellent with a wonderful selection of food. The staff have been really friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We are travelling with our well behaved dog unfortunately we couldn’t use the restaurant or the bar area unless we sat outside, we found this not very dog friendly! We’ve stayed in some wonderful hotels that allow dogs in an area of the bar or restaurant. This made us spend our money on dinner and cocktails outside the hotel.
Hotel was fine for the 2 nights there. Comfortable bed, good night's sleep. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. My only suggestion is to update the rooms. Ours was tired and worn. Free onside parking, dog friendly. Location excellent, right in the centre.
Stayed here in 1985 for Christmas and returned in 2025 for a local event. Two rooms when in very high demandnnAbsolutely lovely reception and service there.nnRooms really sad and tired!nnNoise from other rooms and corridors terrible! But it is what it is.nnNot cheap but any port in a storm.nnThank you.
Enjoyed my holiday at the hotel. The bedroom decor and corridors needs updating but was clean and the bed was comfortable minus a mattress cover though. Shower good and plenty of hot water. Meals were very good and staff were very efficient in the bar and restaurant but they were rushed off their feet, more staff is definitely needed. If you have mobility problems you definitely need to inform the hotel before you arrive.
nnI’ve been using the car park at Iveybush, Carmarthen regularly, as my boyfriend and I have a long-distance relationship and often meet there. I’ve always used it responsibly and never had any problems until now.nnOn 18 August 2024, the parking machine and system were down. I spoke to staff at the time, and they told me they were aware of the issue and would make a note of it on their system. I was reassured that it would all be sorted.nnDespite that, I’ve now received a £300 charge for that same day — with no warning letters or any opportunity to appeal before it reached this stage. It feels completely unfair to be held responsible when the problem was caused by their own machine, and when I was told it had already been reported.nnThe staff on the day were friendly and helpful, but the way this has been handled afterwards has been really disappointing. There’s been poor communication and no fairness shown to regular customers.nnI genuinely hope management looks into this properly and cancels this unfair charge. Loyal visitors shouldn’t be treated like this.
