I visited the Gartcosh Nature Reserve on a lovely snowy Sunday morning. It's compact to say the least, but despite its proximity to the M73, it's a peaceful little trail. In just 15 minutes we spotted a couple of deer and were followed by an inquisitive little robin. There are some nice wood carvings round the route too.

A great place to exercise in the fresh air and observe the wildlife. Interesting trails leading off the main pathways. You can also visit garden area with seating and a nearby facility for the propagation of many varieties of flora and fauna, which can make for a educational and fun day out for the kids. Talking about kids there is a great play area and also a boating facility with picnic area's. Altogether a inexpensive and great day out for the family. RECOMMENDED.

Absolutely love this place. for a fairly urban (in comparison to other places) country park, it has little litter, decent paths and reasonable signage. Clearly well looked after and a great environment given the number of unusual and rare species of animal, bird, insect and amphibian living there. Staying nearby is a real bonus as it is on our door step! Good for folk with different outdoor capabilities. Areas like Hoganfield Loch are wheelchair friendly but further out is some more rugged terrain and wetland good for a bit of exploring and nature watching

Great place to feel closer to nature, has a car park, snack van, and a golf course. The wetlands are also full of wildlife (ducks, swans, birds, deers)
