Could've been better. Much better. We stayed here for 2 days, on the pictures it looks very nice! But to be honest, in real life it is not. When we arrived we heard it was only cash, not that big of a deal because there are more campsites who don't take cards, so that was okay. We got assigned to a spot, and after we got back (we went to the surrounding area with our mobile home) we found out that the spot had been given away to a family member. (We were not pleased.) Another thing I did not like about this camping, was that people arrive around midnight, which you hear, and that the owner just simply parked his car between our home and the neighbours. I could say, we were NOT satisfied by that. Showers and toilets were okay. I did not like that the outside door would not close because of a faulty mechanism. The sinks were a bit cheap, and the first evening, there were a lot of cleaning materials, which in my opinion should've been stored, also because of children. A big disappointment for me: the signs that hanged everywhere (read: This is YOUR washingroom. Please keep clean.) I even heard from a fellow camping guest, that at the ladies there was a sign that said that if you wouldn't keep your douche curtains in the douche, that eventually they would close down the douches? Excuse me? . Also my favorite: NO NOISE after 9 PM till 9 AM. Every. Time. I heard a barking Chihuahua. From the owners. At 8 AM. If you make up rules, follow them by yourself too please. Price: Expensive for this kind of service. Basically: 19 Pound for a night Power Hookup: 3 Pound a night extra?!?! Dog: 1 pound or something. Showers (Ladies): 50p for a couple of minutes. In my opinion, it shouldve been much cheaper. There is nothing to do there, and with a barking chihuahua outside, it is not very fun. But well, if they spend a lot of time in making the campsite good, and if they follow their own rules (including not parking your Jaguar at OUR spot) it could have been a wonderful camping. Unfortunately it was not.

Very helpful staff and a nice site to camp on. Toilets are clean but have to use token whicj you have to buy. There is a bar in the evenings. Village is short walk away to shops and hotel and bar. Local buses to Scarborough and Leeds run through the village also. All in all, it a lovely place And worth a visit for the North Yorkshire area.
