An outstanding experience here! Affordable & high quality sushi in London is a misnomer. Or atleast, I thought it was until I came to SASA. I was blown away by the impeccable service, delicious fish, and fantastic ambiance. Wish I’d discovered this gem sooner! The rainbow roll was terrific. I’d love to try the melted tuna/salmon roll next time. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options clearly displayed on menu
I’m mixed - I ordered the seared nigiri - nigiri and maki themselves were very well done. I’d highly recommend - especially the seared salmons pieces. The only thing that drags down the rating for me was the soy sauce - it was a heavily salted soy sauce and once you dip your sushi in there is zero chance you could taste anything else. Wasabi also a tad bit of a disappointment to an otherwise very worth going sushi place.
I wasn't a huge fan of the agedashi tofu because it was missing the usual bonito flakes but the sasa set more than made up for it. The rice was fresh and well done and the fish was all very fresh. I'd come here again!Food: 4/5
A lovely little place with super friendly, kind, generous service and excellent food. I came in on a deadline, with only an hour before I needed to get to the theatre, and the staff couldn’t do enough to make sure my partner and I were served quickly. All the food was excellent, especially the Sasa sushi set which we shared — really fresh fish and well-seasoned rice. It was very fairly priced, especially for the quality. We will come again for sure!
Great experience at Sasa with lots of variety on not just fish but the preparation as well which I love. Quality was great and Staff are super friendly. Price is also very reasonable for London, would definitely recommend. Note that some items aren't always available like oysters and uni so worth double checking before going if that is what you're after.
Japanese cuisine at its finest. Food was beautifully presented & authentic. Decor was extremely cool and minimalistic. Service was very attentive and friendly, can’t wait to come back again very soon. Recommendations: The Sasa sushi set but everything we had tonight was delicious.
such a cute, family-owned restaurant! our experience was excellent start to finish. the staff were very attentive and the quality of food was just perfect. temaki, wagyu skewers, eel nigiri, volcano maki roll …. so many good options. i’m so happy to have this gem in my neighbourhood.Food: 5/5
At first glance one could walk straight past SASA. Although SASA has a nice exterior / interior decor, the lack of external menu could lead one to dismiss and find another restaurant….which is exactly what we did! That said, after walking to another local venue we decided fortunately to return and give SASA a go. Fortunately for us, this was a great decision. All the dishes were stellar and well priced - tempura ebi and veg, goyza, karaage, sashimi etc. Service was super prompt and polite, refreshing for Islington. Already planning our return.
I want to start with the lovely staff! They were very helpful about deciding on our order and made great choices. We started with rock shrimp tempura. Definitely recommended especially due to its slightly spicy mayo sauce. We also tried rainbow, crunchy tuna roll and dragon eye. If I would rate them, I would put crunchy on top, then, rainbow, then dragon but they were all amazing. And the prices are great for this quality. Also, we went on a weekday around 7 pm without reservation and we were able to find a table.
Sasa was a lovely dining experience, best staff! As I checked on Instagram it was a family business. I really enjoyed my time here and they had an amazing service We celebrated my sister's 24th birthday and she loved it! The food was good but it may need some more seasoning overall I would recommend this place for small dates or small gatherings The price was worth it for the amount of sushi and other dishes we had.
