Delicious little kinako donuts with a bit of matcha sprinkled on top. Very reasonable price. She warmed them up for us. The restaurant looks cute and authentic.
Gorgeous little restaurant with fantastic food and good sake selection at very reasonable prices for London. Authentic Japanese taste and quality ingredients! Can't wait to go back again. Felt like being back in Japan. We got the sukiyaki, sushi platter and tempura platter. All the food was delicious and portion sizes were great. The have a great little sake selection and prices per bottle are very reasonable for London. Staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. Kid-friendliness: They were lovely to my young daughter and accommodating re seating etc
We had a deliveroo order. The 1 star is because the chicken gyoza was raw, which is a big no-no. Not just undercooked, but raw see photos. We did eat the rest. The rolls shrimp tempura roll and soft shell crab roll and yellowtail roll were ok, but not especially notable. Chirashi bowl is ok as well, but I feel somewhat uninspired, with 1 strip each of 6 types of seafood. I suspect the deliveroo presentation may not be fully representative of the fine-dining experience but I'm not that interested in returning to find out. Going for a balanced review here and unfortunately negatively skewed to the raw chicken. After posting the raw chicken photos, Google reviews has censored and removed the photos. Why is unclear to me but note that they've done so. EDIT 06/06/2024 In response to the owner’s reply 4 YEARS LATER where they are suggesting that my review is incorrect, please see attached photo of my Deliveroo order from zen mondo on the date of the original posting. Whatever the gyoza was, it was RAW. By the way even the google maps review options which I can’t create myself under “Which dishes do you recommend?” lists “chicken gyoza” - see another photo attached. I’d really rather you just addressed the problem or offered a consolation rather than suggest it’s my error 4 YEARS LATER… I want to be fair but I’m afraid this latest exchange after 4 years deserves a 1 star.
One of the best Japanese place I’ve been to in London! You get what you pay for, great taste, authentic food and amazing flavours. I loved the pork belly and the agedashi tofu! The udon texture was spot on, just the right chewiness and the shabu shabu had some great quality thin sliced meat. I definitely would recommend this place! I can’t wait to go back again and try the sukiyaki :
good value for price! the servers were attentive, the place was quiet so we could talk pleasantly, the sushi and sashimi plate was fresh and tasty. also liked the matcha ice cream!Recommended dishesSushi and Sashimi Set
What a lovely restaurant this is. It is small but cute inside. They play relaxing music so you can enjoy talking to the people you are dining with. The food is excellent. I tried the vegetable tempura which was first class. The vegetarian selection isn't very large and is mostly tofu which I don't like. But i did enjoy what I ate. This is a great place for a romantic date.
This is a fantastic, fresh and authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. Now I’ve found it I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else. The prices are competitive and the flavours are brilliant. Authentic wasabi so you don’t think you’re gonna burn your nostrils off. If you’re into your fish please come here delivered with lovely presentation. And if you’re looking for ceramic plates and bowls they also sell hand made. If you don’t believe me just check out the photos
Very good sushi and good price. Ceramics and decoration are very lovely too. I also suggest the pop up neko cafe in the weekend.Food: 5/5
A little sushi gem in North London. Great menu with a big selection of fresh sushi and tempura. Worth to try the Mondo selection and the Matcha dessert! Absolutely divine! The ambience and the staff are incredible and they make you feel at home.
Great tempura! This place offers a quiet relaxing ambience with soothing music. Simple but tasty udon with great service. Edit post owner’s reply: Really striking the owner feels the need to rubbish the review considering I gave this place 4 stars, regardless of when I visited. I have been eating here for 3 years - your treatment of customers is rubbish. Do you feel the need to rubbish because you are not confident about your cooking or just frustrated because of the pandemic? Don’t get angry at your customers - I will not be eating here anymore. Good luck with your business, don’t be rubbish to your customers.
