Saracens Head Inn

About

The Saracen’s Head Inn is a traditional English pub serving real ales, fine wines and home-cooked food every lunchtime and evening. The Saracen's Head also has comfortable en-suite Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Story

The Saracen’s Head Inn is steeped in history and character and was built using timbers from old ships. The building surrounds a central courtyard which was originally a travellers coaching inn.
It was built in 1530 at Number 38 Whielden Street, which was formerly known as Union Street when Amersham Hospital was known as The Workhouse.
Rumour has it, two ghosts roam the building, one is alleged to be a young serving wench from the 17th Century, the other one remains a mystery…

Fantastic bar staff & landlord; very friendly and helpful. Good selection of beer. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Hotel rooms are all different in style, and all very comfortable. Highly recommended

The bar is part of Amershams old town and it retains much of its charm and original features. The buffet provided was nice enough and the selection of drinks on hand was what you would expect. Could do with a few more single malts to choose from but otherwise fine. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Lovely pub. Staff were really friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The lady serving even offered to bring me more gravy. I love gravy. I loved this pub.
