On this occasion of visiting the customer cafe I had a full English breakfast and for my sweet tooth had a milk chocolate cookie; as to compare to the cookies in the main shop floor similar cafe ones softer but shop floor ones in bakery section have more chocolate chips in theres. I really enjoyed the cooked breakfast. And was pleasantly surprised how good it was based on how quick it was. I had table number eight. And they was on number 3, only 5 tables before me. And the people in front of me had three guys on, and thought take while as they ordered full English. But to do the five orders was quite quick. And taste good. To be honest based on how quickly the orders came out of the kitchen in front of mine I thought if the doing them quick I was expecting it to be good, but myself and logic was wrong this time. They managed quick and good quality. So was pleased. As was as trying the cafe. I also have tried the hot food/deli section. I got two pastys. Had one hot then for lunch and second days after for lunch. Very tasty. On another occasion I tried the pizzas from hot food section. They are absolutely crazy good value for money. You can get "9inch" or "14inch." And you can either pick your own toppings or pick from one of the pre-made ones already. I went for the "14inch" hawian ham and pineapple. It was £4.50. Plus an extra £1 to get it warmed up. Good value and really tasty. Kid-friendliness: There is child portion of food like bitsize English breakfast. And also high chairs Parking: There's plenty of parking spaces outside, some for click and collect and disabled and for parents and kids etc Wheelchair accessibility: There's wheelchair parking spaces and lifts so wheelchair can get to the customer cafe
Quiet, fabulous breakfast and friendly service. This was a perfect place to drop in to on a way to a business event.Food: 5/5
What a shambles - couldn’t start breakfast because they hadn’t got staff, eventually started taking orders without any announcement so by the time those of us who had waited 40minutes to order realised and made our way up the queue, we were all told there’d be at least a 25minute wait because of the number of people who just come in and been allowed to order. At this point extending the wait to over an hour for a basic breakfast was unpalatable and we were too late to get breakfast anywhere else. We will not risk that again. It’s no reflection on the staff, it’s shoddy management, no customer information or communication systems and no mechanism in place to deal with the consequences of management incompetence :-
A "FINE" DAY.... we did our usual shop, bumped into some old friends and all went to the café, great afternoon... until we ended up with an £80 ANPR camera parking fine.. for overstaying the parking limit , aggressive end to a good day.. will not be using again... Today 20/02/22 Sunday I decided to have my Sunday lunch here and to be honest was really looking forward to a roast dinner! It was 12.10 pm and was told there were no roasts today as they didn't have any meats??? Even though it was up there on the menu board. Why advertise it and then as early as midday say they have none?? Parculier way to do business if you ask me! To be fair, I have eaten there many times before, usually a Saturday morning breakfast and have had no complaints.
No hot food Shut for cleaning, not even a sign up letting customers know until you go and order. Poor
Bacon sarnie and a cup of coffee while we catch up on the events of the past week. Sensible no nonsense food at realistic prices. Would be a shame to lose this eatery to a large chain franchise or an overpriced artisan place. The only criticism, probably of my own making was ordering a second bacon sandwich on the same order number as our original order. This caused some confusion on the system.
A disappointing visit but i have had positive ones previously An 89 year old lady wanted to year me to lunch there. We waited for over 20minutes with my friend unstable on her feet and fretting that the wait would make her late for later appointment. An assistant called Jake work alone with a queue of customers. Later he was joint by a female assistant. After Jake took our order I told him he shouldn't be struggling on his own. He said that one member of staff was off and the two on duty with him were being trained up. With a situation like this management should step in and sort out. The food was good. My friend had Lasagne and i had the Katsu curry Sadly my friend was so fretfulthat lunch was ruined
Staff were excellent, and the café was clean - it's on a mezzanine level, open to the store with large windows overlooking the car park, so it feels bright and airy. Standard Sainsbury's café menu. I ordered a baked potato with coronation chicken, and it was well presented and tasty, but the potato wasn't as hot as I'd have liked. I'd eat there again.
Cafe was a disappointment. It was 18:30, cafe closes at 19:00 and chef had toddled off to go and do some shopping. They'd had a busy day. Nobody else could do hot food due to no training not their fault. Chef appears five minutes later and the only hot food that was left was ham, egg & chips!!
