Curio Lounge
"Curio Lounge is tucked away on King Street in the heart of Stroud. With a lovely little terrace and full height windows across the front, we’re a really great spot for watching the world go by. We’ve a great range of food and drinks including full kids, gluten free and vegan menus served in a relaxed, welcoming, big, bright and airy space stretching across two floors. The building used to be a snooker hall, which explains the space and the stunning parquet floor upstairs. With a heritage like this, we should’ve called ourselves Cue-io Lounge. Maybe not."

A lovely restaurant that has an amazing range of dishes from multiple cuisines. It was a great welcome meal for us, when we first visited Stroud. The interiors were intriguing as well, the different portraits and paintings added a soupçon of the vintage classics, which did manage to distract me from the delay in food delivery.
Quaint yet quirky with a light hint of industrial, with a fabulous ambiance, so much to see, incredible styling. The service was efficient and very friendly. The Merlot I had was full bodied and bulging with fruit. The loos are spotless. Make sure you look upstairs for a very interesting experience. Don't miss this gem in Stroud, we will definitely visit next time we are in Stroud.
Excellent food, plenty of space to eat comfortably with your dog and the service is incredibly welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend!!!
Went in for an afternoon meal and had a great experience. Was greeted at the front door and the ordering options were explained to us. Went upstairs to a table and was greeted by a bright and very clean environment. Decided to order at the bar and again was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who took time to have a conversation. Later I found out that he was the manager. When the food came Tapas and Biryani Bowl it was hot and tasted fresh. Flavours were fantastic and empty plates were all that had to be collected at the end of the meal. Brilliant food and a great experience. We will be back and would recommend others to give it a try.
Loved the staff, very polite and talkative, food was okay- nothing hugely special but lots of options. Vegetarian options: Very accommodating for vegetarians and vegans all the same as people who meat eat.
Apologies in advance, I'm terrible at being concise! The food is generally good, building is very nice but the service is lacking. I'm a bit surprised to see so many people praising the service as we've had quite cold service. A lot of the staff are ladies around my age, so I always try having a chat with them or a little banter, but they are not very friendly to us at all. They never smile or are talkative and they chew gum. No one ever asks if we enjoyed our meal or anything. Also why on earth is there still no table service? The rest of the world has had to go back to normal, perhaps the waitresses have slowly become less friendly as they have had fewer and fewer interactions with customers for years now. We were curious what the soup of the day was so we asked a young lad sorting cutlery who was the complete opposite to the girls, super friendly, jokey and very warm. Admittedly it was also a bit disappointing to hear that your soup of the day is some vague carrot based soup 'with onions' that has not changed all year. Please do not tell off the staff for telling me this, I prefer that he was honest and you guys should make a soup that he'd be proud to sell to me. On a positive note, they serve good quality food at decent prices and if you're looking for an all day breakfast, you're far better off at Curio than one of the greasy caffs nearby. The menu has a wide variety of cuisines so there should be something for everyone. The building itself is huge and impressive with a lovely upstairs dining area with tables and sofas for those wanting a more casual experience. We do like Curio Lounge we just feel let down by the service. Sorry again for the essay!
An entirely separate gluten free menu. And it is extensive! One of the cooks came out to ask us many questions to make sure he knew the dietary needs. Really good GF buttermilk fried chicken, or a sandwich made with it on a gluten free bun. They have tapas too. We have been twice and had great experiences both times. So nice to be able to take our daughter, who had celiac, out to eat without stress. Thanks Curio Lounge. Truly appreciated
Got the chicken bacon avocado burger. And was brilliant. Really tasty only wish was cheese with it as well.
Very charming restaurant and location with a good atmosphere, but service was very slow. I saw maybe 2 wait staff running around trying to cater to everyone; they were lovely when they came over but definitely seemed burned out and exhausted. Definitely seems to be a severe staffing issue- I hope that management looks into this in future.
Went for a works Christmas meal and drinks, and was very pleased with the whole evening, the food was amazing, staff were so attentive and got everything just right even with such a large group. The only complaint we may have is that the line for the bar can get kind of long and can take a little bit of time when it is at peak.
