I had a really good experience in A&E this evening. For the first time me and my partner are visiting Newcastle and I started feeling poorly with my asthma. Doctor, nurses and receptionists where very polite and friendly. The wait was not too long and they gave me treatment. I felt listened to and looked after. Really impressed. Well done medical staff.
My Son was seriously injured on ventilator for 6weeks in ward 38 and the attention and care of the staff was 100% giving 24/7 care constant treatment and never left on his own. Various skin grafts by surgeons and all staff. He then moved to the burns unit ward 37, for his rehabilitation and treatment for burns who were also constantly doing his dressings whilst on ward 38 who are all brilliant and he's making huge improvement everyday. Thank you to all the for your care, support and expertise.
Cannot fault the Rvi at all!nnWent to the general for my elbow.... Broke and they sent me on my way with a sling and no follow up apps to which I still have problems with it to this daynnMy daughter fractures her finger, we go to rvi Friday, we had to go back 3 days later for a check up, again in 10 days and again in 2 weeks to make sure the bone is healing!nnHats off to the standard of care to the rvi patients!!
Went to visit an old friend, the lady at desk said he was in the Respiratory Virtual Ward. I asked where that was so I could visit him. She didn't know, she rang various extensions asking various work colleagues and nobody knew. An hour went by trying to find that ward, so I give in and went home. I think its terrible that I couldn't visit my elderly friend because no staff at the hospital knew where the ward was!!! ridicules.
Took my 85 year old dad to accident and emergency after a fall. Got there 3pm. At 8pm told it would be another 3 hours for somebody to look at his xray. We left, you can't expect eldery people to sit on hard plastic chairs for 6 hours.
