I’ve had a really positive experience as an outpatient at RVI Neurology with Dr. Sedley. He’s extremely skilled, supportive, and genuinely caring, taking the time to listen, explain things clearly, and ensure I get the right treatment while feeling fully supported. Couldn't ask for better care.
I was admitted to ward 15 at the RVI Newcastle, everyone of the staff were absolutely amazing, from the healthcare team up to the consultant who performed my spinal surgery all were absolutely fantastic. Especially Kostas who performed the surgery. All the staff seem to want to look after you it's not a job to them, like other hospitals I've been in staff look as if they have a job to do and have to look after you.
I don’t want to take up unnecessary A&E resources. I’ve only been there once in the past two years, after hitting my head last year. This time, I sprained my ankle and saw a doctor on Sunday, he confirmed the ligaments were injured and advised me to rest and avoid walking. However, when the pain got worse, I went back for a second opinion and saw a different doctor, hoping for an X-ray because I thought my ligaments might be torn. Instead, she told me I should walk more. Wait, what? It’s like she thinks I’m just limping for fun! The advice from the two doctors couldn’t be more different. One tells me to rest, the other tells me to walk it off. No consistency, no concern for how I’m feeling—it’s really frustrating and unprofessional.
They treat the patient perfectly when getting admitted. Later they just ignore patients request. I am a diabetic patient and asked for an insulin for meals which I take it before meals. Almost 24hrs now. Nothing provided yet. DR's are suppose to provide an update on my health condition. They haven't even spoke to the patient on the update and seems like all gone home. Nurses are worse I would say.
