Story

A beautiful 16th century manor house hotel with fantastic stained glass windows and oak panelling, set in around 10 acres of grounds. The building’s history has strong links to the Knights Templar and William Wilberforce’s work to abolish slavery in the 1700s. Today’s hotel features 30 en-suite bedrooms, which are located in both the main hotel and the court mews building, and three function rooms for up to 85 guests – as well as an open log fire and lovely, comfortable lounges.

Great Restaurant We have eaten here and find this place brilliant. We went on Valentine's day and found the restaurant fully booked. Yet we were accompanied in the bar area. The food was served swiftly and presented well. There is a variety of food and drink. There is healthy options as well. It's reasonably priced as well which is great for any time of the month.

Having got married here six years ago and had a fantastic day, we have returned on a number of occasions and never been let down. People's expectations of Rothley Court seem to be so high because it has a fantastic building and grounds and Is in an affluent Leicestershire village. Our wedding costs were relatively cheap(£3k for everything including 50 guests+all day in Dec 2011) for such a beautiful backdrop and this is because it is part of the Greene King chain of pubs and hotels. So if you don't expect a 5 star service but instead have more realistic expectations of good pub grub and a nice room to stay in then the place itself is a lovely and glorious bonus. We have eaten and stayed on numerous occasions the latest being just £29.99 B&B for 2 people and never had any major gripes. Try getting anywhere else as nice for the price!

Only used the bar and restaurant, service was good. It was slow at the bar at some points as there was only one bar tender and he was also doing drinks for the restaurant slowing down service for bar customers. Grounds are very nice and on a sunny day it’s a great view and experience. Lots of parking on site.

We traveled along way for a wedding viewing, left in the bar area for 45mims waiting, no apology. Clearly over booked! It’s a nice pub, but a pub it is. We did stay for lunch and food was very good for the price paid.

Really nice little hotel. Decent bar menu and friendly staff. Also has plenty of parking, and good clean, basic rooms.
