I went to the station to print off tickets I had purchased for future travel. I had 5 separate bookings to print off. I managed to print off 4 and the ticket machine then froze before I could enter the reference for the 5th and final booking. I went to the ticket office and  explained that the machine had frozen and asked if he could print off my tickets for me. I gave him the reference number.  He said that he had inputted the number and it did not exist and that I must have printed off the tickets. I knew that this was not correct. When I have had tickets printed off at Meadowhall they ask for a card used to pay for the tickets to locate the booking which he did not do. I questioned him and he said that I needed to contact the organisation used to purchase the ticket. Two days later I went back to the station and the machine was working and I entered the reference and obtained my tickets. The man at Rotherham station was called Andrew and clearly did not want to help me when the machine broke down and what more he lied to me. Really unpleasant situation  and obviously not in the right job.

I have given this apology for a railway station one star because to give it none or a negative is not possible.  This place is PATHETIC for a town of Rotherham's size.  There isn't a ticket machine and the platforms too short for anything but local trains... and the station is still waiting for the direct London train promised by British Rail over thirty years ago.  Pull it down and compulsory purchase/re-open Masbrough, I say!

The toilets are only open within certain hours. I was waiting for a 23.39 train for over half an hour & couldn’t get access to the loos. What if I’d needed the baby change that late?!

Good facilities for disabled people lifts and toilets

Average sort of station. Nothing eye catching.
