Delicious food. The steak was cooked perfect and the mussels were delicious.nBest Sticky Toffee pudding ever!nThoroughly enjoyed it and 100% would come back!!!
This restaurant served us burgers that were completely raw in the middle so the kitchen should realistically be shut down until a competent chef can be installed. However I reviewed this place at a two-star because of the fantastic service that we got from the front of house so I felt there was a mismatch there and it's really unfortunate to see. The service of the front of house was really friendly and the gentleman tried to rectify it as quickly as possible and I really appreciate his efforts. Hopefully things in the back of house can match the fantastic service in the front of house and they can really turn this around
Great food and also great service, cauliflower was bit under cooked but no huge issue.nOnly problem was quite a few flies and people non stop walking through the no dog zone with their dogs and not a single challenge from staff. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you don't want dogs around you while eating.
Always a lovely experience here for food. This was on a Saturday night, but staff were still attentive and helpful, despite its busyness.nnAll of us enjoyed our food, we also all had dessert. Couldn't fault any of it.
Rather shocked at how bad the Rose and Crown was having eaten here so many times in the past.nnTable was booked for 3 of us at 19:30. Ordered drinks at 19:40. Tried and tried to get the staffs attention to take our meal order.nnFinally came at 20:20 to be told most of the menu was finished. It was so late we decided to stay and just get some of the remaining choices.nnFood arrived, poorly presented and slopped on the plate. Cauliflower and red pepper curry consisted of three maybe four small pieces of cauliflower with no sign of red pepper. Tasted ok but certainly wasn’t worth £18.00, even charged me extra for pitta bread.nnThe other meals were mediocre at best.nnWe finished and with it being so late, there wasn’t much desserts left either.nn£71.00 for limited choice, minute and poorly presented food is an insult.nnOne girl who was really nice trying to serve absolutely everyone was a total disaster.nnWith prices like that, they need to start paying for staff to cover the amount of customers.nnAnyone visiting Ulverston, there’s plenty of MUCH better places to eat…
