Always a lovely experience here for food. This was on a Saturday night, but staff were still attentive and helpful, despite its busyness.nnAll of us enjoyed our food, we also all had dessert. Couldn't fault any of it.
The Rose and Crown is a lovely pub, tucked away at the end of the town, it's easy to miss it. We booked for Sunday lunch based on the strength of other reviews here, and were not disappointed. The staff were brilliant - all friendly, welcoming and efficient. The beers were good, but the food was excellent! We had the roast lamb and roast beef, and the plates were piled high with food. The meat was delicious and tender, the side of stuffing was amazing - so tasty! And the cauliflower cheese side was also fantastic. Sadly no room for dessert, but would definitely recommend booking for Sunday lunch if you're in the area. It's a popular place, and you can see why!
I recently tried their vegan meatball pasta dish, it was excellent and very filling. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty vegan option.nTheir salt and pepper fries are also absolutely delicious. The staff are very pleasant. We will be returning.
Walked in on a Sunday lunch time and were luckily seated immediately in an almost empty pub! I was ecstatic because this is my favourite restaurant in Ulverston but I can never get in without a reservation.nnI had the Cajun Chicken Baguette as usual with Loaded Texas Fries and it was INCREDIBLE as always.nnFantastic service and food.
Booked a table but was told all our party could not sit togethernMussels we're rubbery. Prawn starter was delicious though and gammon main meal was a good size portion.nOne member of staff made us feel uncomfortable yet the lady serving us food was lovely.nNot a place we would visit again
