Fantastic that this historic building has been preserved for future generations. Apart from its former use as a Victorian and Edwardian spa hotel, not many people know that it was a RAF psychiatric hospital during WW2 whose patients were mostly mentally exhausted aircrew. The hospital was sometimes unkindly referred to as "Hatters Castle" by locals.

Beautiful views. Landlady is incredibly helpful and friendly.

The apartment was very good. Very spacious with 3 bedrooms and a large living room. It was ideal for the 5 of us. I must thank Maureen who was very helpful, right from picking us up from the rail station to the time of departure, She even pulled our luggage to the taxi as our hands were full with bags
