Had a lovely welcome on arrival at The Rock Inn from Ruth, one of the owners. After checking us in she showed us to our room where along with tea & fresh ground coffee, we had homemade lemon drizzle cake. Rooms were very clean & airy each one having its own character. The use of unique wallpaper is quite apparent along with some unusual mirrors you can see throughout the Inn. Look out for the fairy doors too. I was one of a group of 11 & we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal which was beautifully presented. After the other guests that were only dining had left, we were able to go about our evening of paranormal investigating. This had been arranged with the owners Darren & Ruth. Because of the nature of the building we booked all the rooms so no one else would be disturbed. This is an old property, so creeks & groans are naturally part of the fabric of this building which is almost 500 years old. Even the exterior setting gives a sense of old-world charm, with a stream & bridge. All our party enjoyed their stay & would recommend it.
Five of us have just had an absolutely wonderful meal, each and every one of us really enjoyed our food. A very welcoming pub, very friendly greetings for my birthday, nicely appointed dining room, chef has an excellent knowledge of dishes from all over the world. Exceptionally fresh fish direct from Brixham.. A really enjoyable experience which I'd heartily recommend. Thanks to all of you..
Cant fault quiet room, lovely and clean bed comfy. Disappointing full English for the cost of £15.00 per person. One sausage and half a medium mushtoom, come on Rock Inn be more generous and for the cost of £99 for two I would expect biscuits in the bedroom with the tea faculities.Rooms: 4/5
A warm welcome upon entering. A beautiful cosy building. Very friendly and efficient staff. Top quality 10/10 food for all three courses. The whole family were very happy and you really helped make the night for my Grandparents. Thank you and see you soon.
Best food I had in Somerset. We went twice during our stay once on Sunday for a roast ...which was the best Roast I have had in a long time I had pork but the veggie option looked tasty and other diners seemed to really enjoy it. We went again during the week and the excellent food standard continued. Food was delicious and it was a lovely ambiance. Sunday was busy but being out of season during week was okay however during holiday season I would imagine would be fully booked. A great experience and well worth a visit
Just stayed here and had a lovely time. The food reviews are not overrated. Probably one of the best pub meals we’ve had in ages. The peppercorn sauce with the steaks was a standout favourite. The wine list is really nice. The hosts are really welcoming and they run a tight ship! Our room was cute, little bit of noise from the road if you’re sensitive to such things. We had a bath tub with a shower head but you’re asked not to stand up to avoid covering the place in water. It was a quant stay but the food & drinks really made it amazing; freshly baked muffins waiting for us in the room! Highly recommend.
Wow, what a great restaurant, great service, very friendly, very welcoming, perfect timing with the food, staff attentive to just the right amount, lovely polite and helpful. I had the Devon beef veg and chips, amazing, cooked to perfection, with lovely presentation. Old stile Inn, nice décor, great setting by a stream. Recommend booking as was quite full on a Friday. Check out the menu on line, for something much more upmarket than a pub. Had a great evening, even dogs are allowed so had some dogs to fuss. Couldn't fault it. Left Very full and very happy.
We had a lovely one night stay at The Rock Inn. Our room was comfortable and bathroom had a good shower. Very friendly and welcoming with delicious food for dinner and breakfast. Excellent cider as well!Rooms: 5/5
Absolutely amazing place to stay. So rare to find a place that combines a homely and cheerful pub atmosphere, almost michelin style, five star cooking and a 450 years of history in the building itself. Which tied in perfectly with our historic national trust weekend trip everything we love in one place, our stay couldn’t have been better. Definitely recommend for anyone and 10/10 would love to come here again.
Lovely meal for 4 people, blade of beef was superb, and the fish soup, the wife states is fantastic. Its not standard pub food, much better, and the prices were good. Ruth and staff were great, beer cider and wine good, and dog friendly. Lovely.
