It was so nice to take the whole family to such an inviting pub. Great food, nice location and a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to taking other family members there soon.
Good quick service. Staff friendly, not too pestering. Okay food at reasonable price. Excellent showcase of local history and heritage. The walls tell a story or two. Good facilities and seemed relatively covid safe. Very dog friendly inside and out in the beer garden area. Small enclosed area with play equipment amazing for small children. Overall very good; I would recommend.
Updated review: 3 stars Date: 18/03/23. Since being taken over by Hall & Woodhouse, The World's End has sadly gone downhill. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice location but... Its no where near as good as it used to be and location alone isn't enough. Everything is a little less special now, the menu isn't as good, the food isn't as nice, the staff aren't quite as good, the attention to detail is very much lacking now which is such a shame to see this place fall from glory. There are now many other bar/restaurant locations in the area to compete with, which offer better value, and better food. This did not used to be the case. I do hope they are able to reverse this slow decline into mediocrity before its too late. Original review: 5 stars Friendly and efficient staff. Food good. Over enthusiastic waiter.
Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. We only called in as we were passing and it looked busy which is a nice sign. We managed to getca table for Sunday lunch and sat and had a drink. Unfortunately the roast wasn't great. Everything on the plate was lovely except for the beef. So so tough I could hardly cut it with a knife or chew it. Never mind this happens I suppose. For £16.95 we expected better.
A lovely looking pub with plenty of room inside and a friendly greeting on arrival. Food was very good although I did feel that my dessert wasn't value for money. I choose the sorbet, but they only give you one scoop! I also felt the staff could've been a bit more attentive during the course of the meal.
Lovely pub and very welcoming location, we stopped off on our journey home for something to eat with no idea what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Typical pub fare and roasts available with all the trimmings for medium prices but above average quality. Highly recommended and only a few minutes from the M5, well worth the slight detour.
My friend and I stopped and had lunch here. The service was excellent and our meals were delivered in a short time. The food was cooked to perfection and was delicious. I cant praise this venue enough very clean
Great building, full of character and the front of house staff were really good but the food was disappointing. We ordered in advance because we were a group of 8, but the majority of the meals seemed to have been cooked much too early, coming out dry and, in one case inedible. The waitress took that meal off the bill, but it should never have been served
Great food and great staff. Only downside is the no cash payment. Will be back soon.
Partner had a fish finger sandwich which was very nice. I had a double cheeseburger but the burgers were seriously over cooked and dry. I will give them another go as I think I might have just been unlucky as in general the food looked good. I should have complained really and given them a chance to rectify but we were in a rush.
