For a central local authority run carpark accessed by visitors to the town ( maybe for the first time), it gives a very poor impression with the terrible surface with potholes, and undrained water after its rained, poor space markings... and this you have to pay for !!
It's been like this for years ... this carpark is one  of the worst in Chelmsford in my opinion. Please ... It needs completely resurfacing not just patched up which seems to be the case nowadays.
UPDATE : this carpark is now closed, and is being redeveloped for the new Riverside Leisure centre

Small car park on the Bond Street side of Riverside leisure center, spaces are good size and the prices are reasonable.

What I didn't like was the jobsworth parking warden who, watched me get out of my car and go straight to the machine, put money in then take my ticket out and put it in my car. I barely got 5 steps away before said warden bolted across the car park to check my ticket! I mean really??

Would rate higher if Sunday parking was free. It is reasonable though.

An extremely overpriced car park, avoid if possible, obviously run by a greedy council with little thought for it's residents and or visitors.

Prices feel a bit steep and can be hard to find a space at peak time. It does use "Pay by Phone" which is a bonus though.
