Best day out in a long time! English heritage never lets me down! Worth the price as you see where your money is going! It's all in to the restoration and maintenance of the beautiful abbey! You do have to pay for parking which is £5 or you could park down the street for free

Great place in a great location. The cafe here is very good, the ruins are great. The road leading to it isnt brilliant but apart from that wow.

Rievaulx Abbey was a monastery until the 16th century when Henry VIII seized it. It is now one of the main touristic attractions in the North York Moors and certainly worth a visit; although it is now a ruin, you can easily see the great place that was once there. It is free to visit if you are part of the English Heritage.

A tranquil place in an area of outstanding beauty. The ruins give an atmospheric feel. It's easy to see why the monks chose this sheltered location. There is a really good information centre where you can learn about its origins and what life was like for the monks and people who lived in those times.

Filmed it at dawn for a production was breathtaking. Mid winter, frost on ground was magical. The abbey is pretty big too.
