Went here for an evening meal with my girlfriend, Greeted by a very lovely, Bubbly American woman who gave us ample options for where to sit (which is always nice) Ordered food around 7pm and within half hour we had it, It was absolutely stunning food! Cooked to perfection and I have no complaints at all! We then decided to stay for cocktails after food and again the service at the table, Young American lady was very attentive, Very helpful. I would highly recommend dining here or drinking here.

Overlong waits for service and then 30+ minute wait for drinks to be brought out. Understaffed. Food is ok but not with the near 1 hour waiting time on a less-than-busy day.

Been here twice now. Fantastic value for money with the food. Had good service (6pm-7:45pm on a friday), with a very attentive member of staff. Will be going back again.

Would rate this 0 stars but that wasn't an option. I came down to Exeter from Yorkshire (a good 5 hour drive) with my son and his partner to see my daughter, and we decided to go somewhere nice for dinner as we're only here for one night. We chose Riddle and Rye and, boy, that was a bigger mistake than Trump being elected president. We arrived around 8pm, and as you have to order food at the bar it was 8:30 by the time we ordered. Minutes turned into hours, and by 10pm we'd had enough and I requested a refund so we could give up on this diabolical excuse of a restaurant. Only, one small thing; the staff refused to give us a refund for the drinks as well as the food as we'd already drank them during our TWO HOURS sat twiddling our thumbs. There was also no sincere apology or explanation, other than 'it's busier than usual,' which doesn't actually explain why only two orders came out of the kitchen the whole time we were there. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy, unless you're a masochist who enjoys mental torture in which case this is the place for you.

Came to Exeter for a day from Plymouth, saw the menu on the window offering jackfruit alrernatives to burgers, wraps etc... perfect for hungry vegans. An hour later... still being told by various staff it was being plated up. We had an hour until our train home and I wanted to achieve more from my day than waiting for lunch, so we told them we had had enough. I would have perhaps understood if it was a busy Friday night but it was a quiet Wednesday lunch time. This seems to be a common trend of restaurants luring vegans in with all their options when in reality these restaurants don’t have any of the vegan ingredients in the kitchen and rather than telling you from the get go so you can make other plans, they just hope you’ll sit there and keep buying drinks. Thanks for wasting our afternoon on a very rare day off.
