Looked forward to going to Fort Douglas with my Grandchildren today but was astonished to find that the cost of entering the play park had increased by more than 100% from the last time we were there. I was very happy to pay £3 per child as before but I am afraid that £8 for a child and an adult and an additional £4.50 for every additional child is really taking the Mickey!!! I wonder how many of the numerous Grandparents there used the playground equipment, or even the parents!!!! Only saw a few adults on it where it was necessary to supervise their children. And yet we all have to pay now. And what happened to the man on the barrier making sure that no children escaped without an adult??? The barrier wasn't even down. Great play area for older children but will be thinking twice about going again, as pensions definitely don't increase at the same rate of inflation as the entry price!

Really great spot in dalkeith park with cafes and shops. Tasty food, not too expensive, and local produce and gifts. Service in the cafe was excellent. Only downsides were that the tables were a little packed-in, so when it got busy it was a little jammed. And the queue for the ice cream blocked most of the shop.

Fantastic place for Friends and Family! We visited last weekend for Lunch and a wonder around the shop. Our lunch was fantastic, we didn't need dinner after. The service was excellent also. Highly recommended!

Just so expensive for what you get. There was no kids food left & had to wait a while for coffee to be brought over. Beautiful setting though and friendly staff.
