Regent Hall

Story

The Regent Hall is a Salvation Army centre on London's Oxford Street. It is one of the oldest centres in London having been founded by the founder of the army, William Booth in 1882. The church is known across the world as the "Rink", because it was formerly a skating rink. The hall is known for its music, both for its own brass band which tours internationally, its high standard choral music, and as a venue for visiting artists. The present officers are Majors Richard and Caroline Mingay, who succeeded Major Dawn and Major Graham Mizon. in 2017.FacilitiesWilliam Booth bought the building on Oxford Street in 1882. Since then, 'The Rink' has had many major internal improvements. Most recently in the summers of 2015 - 2017.The main auditorium seats approx 550, with a stage area that could accommodate an orchestra of around 50-60.

Probably the best coffee shop on Oxford street!!! Great coffee and an abundance of comfortable seating area. Much better than those cramped coffee shops elsewhere.
Nice central London location. Spoilt by a slightly dead acoustic and balcony seating with leg room only for those under 5'2''
Good place for holding a presentation for attendees coming from all sorts of locations. I have walked past this place for years without knowing it was there. Good audio, the screen was not formatted enough to read small writing but that was probably the presenters set up.
It's a wonderful place for coffee and something to eat. Great people around.
Best community cafe on Oxford Street and good charity services.
When we are shopping in Oxford Street we often pop in here for coffee, cakes or a light lunch. The coffee is good and the staff are really friendly. Look out for the lunchtime concerts too: they are fabulous.
The Salvation Army is an excellent venue for hosting exhibitions. The staff are exceptionally helpful and professional. I am always impressed every time I use the venue.
