Regent Hall

Story

The Regent Hall is a Salvation Army centre on London's Oxford Street. It is one of the oldest centres in London having been founded by the founder of the army, William Booth in 1882. The church is known across the world as the "Rink", because it was formerly a skating rink. The hall is known for its music, both for its own brass band which tours internationally, its high standard choral music, and as a venue for visiting artists. The present officers are Majors Richard and Caroline Mingay, who succeeded Major Dawn and Major Graham Mizon. in 2017.FacilitiesWilliam Booth bought the building on Oxford Street in 1882. Since then, 'The Rink' has had many major internal improvements. Most recently in the summers of 2015 - 2017.The main auditorium seats approx 550, with a stage area that could accommodate an orchestra of around 50-60.

Oh my goodness I literally stumbled across this place by accident! Only to find out a FREE piano concert was taking place! How lucky were we, those in attendance! It was brilliant thank you for allowing me to stay and enjoy such excellence. Based in the heart of Londons Oxford Street..... check it out.... you won't be disappointed xx
It is a really nice place! A lot of choices in the buffet bar. Fantastic drinks, cakes and sandwiches, indeed. I didn't make pictures because it was not possible but I enjoyed the nice, clean area and the pretty atmosphere + outside, as well: the beautiful buildings.
There is no free coffee or breakfast there. The place is very smelling at the Salvation Army prince street. The breakfast is extremely poor because the amount of butter and peanuts butter on bread is very little. Air Perfume is very cheap but they won’t spend this little money to buy it. The place in prince street is awful, it makes you feel like you are in Somalia or Afghanistan or IRAN. It’s awful to have free breakfast there on a smelly environment. It’s just terrible and never imagined this can happen in UK.
I love this place, It's an incredible venue for live classical music. We have to look harder for quality live music but the program all year round at regent hall is first class. Friday lunchtimes at 1pm is the time and place to be. Plus an excellent cafe and atmosphere run by the under appreciated Salvation Army.
Surprisingly large and interesting hall with light and sound technology- the place is not only for masses but for other type of events or gatherings as well. I passed it many times when I was walking on Oxford street, but I did not expected how is it looking from the inside
Very nice place, very cosy.
I highly recommend events in this facility. I was attending a concert of a Welsh chorus and it was fabulous. The venue has a nice small bistro where you can snack on.
Attended for a twice yearly meeting of musical friends. New members were admitted to membership. A music recital was followed by refreshments consisting of tea/coffee and tray bakes. We were made very welcome, and hope to return later in the year. Very convenient being in Oxford Street, not far from Oxford Circus tube station.
What an amazingly welcoming venue, brilliantly presented. Main hall seats are good, but gallery seats are uncomfortable with no leg room and I'm only 5ft 10in tall, so how anyone with longer legs will manage! Of course, we are there for a concert, but hope that the welcome from the Salvation Army stewards and service we received was typical of Sunday too. The cafe area is smallish, but excellent quality and bright and modern.
Very good lunchtime entertainment by the Countess of Wessex's string Orchester.
